Rain / Stormy Weather / End of the World Songs

You had to bring the rapey Christmas song into it...
"TheatreDiva90016 - another good reason to frequent these boards less."<<>> “I hesitate to give this line of discussion the validation it so desperately craves by perpetuating it, but the light from logic is getting further and further away with your every successive post.” <<>> -whatever2

Crap. You're right Diva. I thought it was all just gentle pleading in the lyrics, but there are a few time where the woman clearly says no, and the guy just keeps pushing. I'll add it to my list of songs to avoid in the future.

Ugh don't remind me. I am in Indiana and am so pissed that Mourdock ever made it through the primary. Will be happily voting against that idiot here in a few days.

If you haven't checked it out yet, read this parody. Disturbing, but accurate: http://whatever.scalzi.com/2012/10/25/a-fan-letter-to-certain-conservative-politicians/

Enough with the threadjack though. Back to the songs.

Rain / Stormy Weather / End of the World Songs

The lyrics:

Into each life some rain must fall,
But too much is falling in mine.

Into each heart some tears must fall,
But some day the sun will shine.

Some folks can lose the blues in their hearts,
But when I think of you another shower starts.

Into each life some rain must fall
But too much is falling in mine.

Suggested by a line in "The Rainy Day," a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow:

"The Rainy Day"

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
The vine still clings to the moldering wall,
But at every gust the dead leaves fall,
And the day is dark and dreary.

My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains, and the wind is never weary;
My thoughts still cling to the moldering Past,
But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast
And the days are dark and dreary.

Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.
