Gee, I better stop wearing his designs. [Gothampc furiously scrubs Polo off his neck.]

"Lauren has built an empire by becoming the unofficial outfitter of the American Dream, marketing an idealized image of America's former ruling class to the nation at large. However, the WASP aesthetic he sells—think of characters from "The Great Gatsby," clothed in tennis whites and delicate tea dresses—has come to represent a classist and racist set of ideals, hardly representative of the current multicultural social fabric of the United States."

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I have always thought that Ralph Lauren was vastly overrated as a designer. A great marketer, yes. Designer, no, imo.

The Hilfiger story was recycled from an old story about Lauren (minus the Oprah bit).

All designers are racist. When Tim Gunn says "make it work" what he really means is "white power".

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

True, Borstal.

If I hear Carolina Herrera say "Pleasure me, Mandingo" just once more . . .

Are all classicists classist? Or are some just classy?

Donatella Versace has two Asian houseboys she renamed "Ching" and "Chong"

Class dismissed!
