with an envelope full of golden relic contents.
I got a reply from David Mamet!
He sent me a signed picture, and a personal letter back!
His favorite quote from any of his plays is "I think I just had too much coffee" in "Edmond".
He says that all his plays are like children, but his favorites are AMERICAN BUFFALO, THE WOODS, CRYPTOGRAM, and OLEANNA.
I looooooooooooooooooooooooooove him.
One of my favorite playwrights, but no one beats Albee.

How are you getting all these famous playwrights' adresses?
There is a special database.
PM me if you want some addresses.
:)

Nuggs, you scare the sh*t out of me sometimes.
I would imagine the response from Mamet would be
"Letter. Yes, letter. I got your letter. The one you sent. The letter. Sent. Yes. I received the letter. I received the letter you sent. You sent it. Yes. F*ckin letter. That you sent. Letter. Thank you. For the letter. The one you sent. The letter. Yes. The letter. Yes.
Best
David Mamet"
Matthew, why?
and John, niiiice.

Mmm hmm, this creeped me out too.
:)
it did not!
oh my...
whyyyy?!?!

Hmm, maybe it was your word choice.
raping?
rape can be fun.
it isn't rape if she blinks twice for "yes".
Oh my. I think that's the funniest thing I've read all week.
But not everyone here has my sense of humor, dear little Nugget boy.
Why not?
Shhh, brainwash -
By the by, I miss your avatar of Jake in his undies. I do believe it was your first one...I like that one the best.

Oh, Nugget, please rethink your comment...
"raping?
rape can be fun. it isn't rape if she blinks twice for "yes".
There is nothing even remotely funny about the violent act of rape.
Hm. Brianwash unsuccessful.
Reboot and re-attempt.
Darlin, you must know that I was not being serious.

There are some subjects about which there is zero wiggle room for joking. Rape is one of them.

guessing the choice of word(s) was an attempt to draw attention to the post-and it worked. It's a free country, and godknows no accounting for taste....
Thanks a bunch, kiddo.

NM, as much as I love you, watch it.
And JohnPopa, that was frickin' hilarious.
I find the title of the thread to be in bad taste, and NuggetMonkey's subsequent comments and defense of his poor judgement to be just about the most offensive thing I have ever read on this board. I'm kind of surprised as I always had a high opinion of him. And Matt_G's finding it to be the funniest thing he's read all week is, unfortunately, totally predictable.
Good Lord, is nothing sacred? To me, as a woman, having you trivialize rape is on par with someone making making a Matthew Shepard joke. I'm sure some people make them, but I don't have any use, or respect, for that type of person. When you post on a message board, you're not just talking to a half dozen friends who know where you are coming from or how to interpret your remarks...
I don't know. Instead of being defensive, try standing back and look, objectively, at the impression you created. It's not good.

Making fun of Corine is high comedy.
Making fun of rape in such a cavalier, off-handed fashion is really insensitive. I suppose it's funny until it happens to you or someone you know and love.
