Really Odd DVR Issue

For weeks now, I've been trying to record So You Think You Can Dance as a series.....and it refuses to happen. I go through all the steps, and the series icon appears, but when you look at the guide any time later and not only is it not set as a series, but most of the time its not even set to record.

I don't have this problem with anything else I try to record -- individually or as a series....has anyone else had this issue?

My parents had this happen with their DVR I think last summer (or maybe two summers ago). They were with Time Warner. It started off the way you describe, with it ignoring the commands to record one series and eventually progressed to not being able to record anything. When the service guy came he basically walked in the house, looked at the model of the unit, and walked right back out to his truck to bring in a new one without even turning the old one to see what the problem was. Apparently that model was failing left and right during that time. Sorry that I can't tell you which model number it was though.
