Regis and Kelly- NYC Taping Question

This doesn't relate to theatre, but it relates to New York.

I'll be in New York for 2 1/2 days this July. I'm interested in requesting tickets to Regis and Kelly.

Has anyone done this before and gotten tickets?
Is it best to request by phone, snail mail, or online?
How long would it take for me to find out if I got tickets?

Thanks!

re: Regis and Kelly- NYC Taping Question

i live on long island and have been to some tapings.
it takes anywhere from 2-3 months to receive the tickets
you could do standby but must get there really early -
whatever time the website states i would be there at least another half hour before that. be prepared to wait outside or stand in a long line.
nbc studios also has standby tickets for late night with jimmy fallon and the view tapes in ny also.
hope that helps

TICKET AVAILABILITY
Live tapes Monday through Friday at 9am ET. Ticket holders should plan to be at the studio by or before 8am ET.

Please be advised that there can be up to a twelve month wait for tickets because there is very limited seating in the studio. To help assure the dates you request will be available, please submit your ticket request at least 6-8 weeks in advance and be sure to include multiple back-up dates to work with in order to help us fulfill your request. We will do everything possible to fulfill your request, but cannot guarantee availability on your requested dates. Tickets recipients are randomly selected from all online and requests received through the mail. Tickets are mailed out approximately 1-3 weeks prior to the taping date.

If you are unable to request tickets in advance, or do not receive tickets as requested, we highly recommend our standby line.

STANDBY LINE
Standbys are encouraged to come to the studio (SE corner of West 67th and Columbus Ave.) as early as 7am ET for a standby number. After the ticket holders are seated, it is first come, first served from the standby line.

STUDIO LOCATION
Although the studio's official address is 7 Lincoln Square, New York, NY 10023, the easiest way to locate the studio is to find the ABC building/entrance at the South East corner of West 67th and Columbus Avenue. (Across from the Starbucks)

PLEASE NOTE
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and children under 10 years of age are not permitted to attend. Eating, drinking and smoking in the studio is not permitted. Cameras are allowed, but flash photography is prohibited. Please be prepared to pass through security and metal detectors to enter the studio.

TO REQUEST TICKETS VIA MAIL
Please send a postcard or regular sized envelope with your name, address, phone number, email address and the date(s) you would be able to attend to the following address. Be sure to include additional back-up dates so we can work to accommodate your request:

"Live with Regis and Kelly" Tickets
Ansonia Station
P.O. Box 230-777
New York, NY 10023-077

TO REQUEST TICKETS ONLINE
Fill out the following form and press "Submit." If the date you wish to attend is not available online, we recommend sending a request through the mail. Tickets recipients are randomly selected from all online and mailed-in requests. NO LINK FOR ONLINE TICKETS REQUEST IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

Please Note:
Tickets are made available online one month at a time, approximately one month in advance. For example, tickets for May are made available the last week of March. If there are no longer clickable dates available in the calendar, please feel free to mail in your ticket request or wait for the following month of tickets to become available online.

Please make all special requests in the "Additional Notes" field rather then submitting repeated requests for the same or additional dates that will only clog the system and/or be ignored!

Online tickets are currently booked through March. Check back soon for availability. In the meantime, you are welcome to mail in a ticket request for future dates. Please see instructions listed above.

re: Regis and Kelly- NYC Taping Question

I got to Regis and Kelly last week at 8:20, was last in the stand-by line and got in. They didn't even fill up the studio. They ended up taking about 10 seats away.

re: Regis and Kelly- NYC Taping Question

I've done standby to THE VIEW twice the season pre-Rosie and got in both times. I did standby to THE VIEW twice during Rosie and got in both times. I did standby for THE VIEW twice immediately after Rosie and got in. Then after that I tried about 8 times between the previous and current season and only got in twice, losing out six times. For some reason, it's been very difficult lately...which is bizarre to me since Rosie was extremely popular.

If you're going in July, don't bother requesting tickets. Just try your luck at standby. Get there early. I've heard of people arriving as early as 5am. Which I think is unnecessary. Try getting there at 7am. Good luck!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

re: Regis and Kelly- NYC Taping Question

With Regis & Kelly, I think it depends who is on the show that day I went when Sarah Jessica Parker was on and there were loads of people in the standby line. If you want standby tickets I would say get there around 6.30 am. Luckily I talked to some other people who had a spare ticket so I got in!
J'ai compris tous les mots, j'ai bien compris, merci.............
