We all knew the blizzard was coming before Christmas, which left Chris Christie plenty of time to cancel his vacation and do the job that voters (inexplicably) elected him to do.
Ok, so he makes the political miscalculation to still take his vacation. No worries, we approved a constitutional amendment recently to have a lieutenant governor who could serve in his stead. Oh, wait...she is on vacation in Mexico!
The two top officials in the state of New Jersey couldn't figure out how to stagger their vacations? Really?
And neither had the intellect to realize taking a vacation during a blizzard, where the Senate President (who is currently running the state) declared a state of emergency, was a bad political move?
They really are that dumb!
Absent-minded: Gov and his lieutenant both on vacation

"Corey Booker is going to make a great Governor of NJ."
Can't wait to see him go around to every NJ resident's house and shovel their sidewalk.

^BUH-ZING!^
Things aren't much better in NY, anyway. 48 hours and not a single plow has come down the block.

"48 hours and not a single plow has come down the block."
Bloomberg's waiting for a "green" alternative to plowing to present itself -- global warming.

Posted: 12/28/10 at 5:11pmI'm okay with Christie being on vacation. He can stay down there. In February it took two days to get a plow on our street. This time we were plowed Sunday night. Last time a state of emergency was never declared for where I live. This time the a state of emergency was declared for the whole state.

Posted: 12/29/10 at 2:47pmMy parents were snowed in until Tuesday afternoon. Granted, it's not Christie's fault, but somehow, I blame him anyway.

Posted: 12/29/10 at 3:29pmI was snowed in until yesterday too. But that's because the person we pay to shovel the driveway never showed and I was running a fever. Which made shoveling a little difficult. I ended up paying some friends to do it.
