Perhaps if you feel the need to, you can give CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms through PM as not to call uneeded attention to her.

But that is where you are wrong. It IS needed. FOR HER!
And Corine, I really was trying to give you constructive criticism. You want that site to be just for you why post the interviews? You already spoke to those people (or should I say corresponded by e-mail?) So no one believes that statement for a moment.

I'ts not exactlly IN Times Square but there is this really good Italian place called Maria Pia I think it's on 51st between 8th and 9th. The last time we went they said you need to make reservations but they had them available for like everyday of our trip. I love the food there and its a nice atmosphere.

Oh and Iguana has wonderful Fajitas, sorry if i spelled that or anything wrong. They are next to Studio 54 on 54th between 7th and 8th.

ETA- Ok so its to late but they are great places so I will leave the suggestions up.

Enjoy

I don't like Iguana. When I was running Applevision we had barter at Iguana and I took a very big theater Producer for lunch there. They dropped a pitcher of water on him. I wanted to die.
I have never been back since.

This says a lot about your criteria for a good restaurant. Accidents happen, even in the best places. You should be happy it was only water? Don't hold a grudge much, do you?

Well the food was never anything special. But, the owner was cheap so I had no choice. We also had barter at Heartland which is very good food.
I really loved the Buffalo chicken springrolls. Not healthy but DIVINE.
Damn, yummy.
Jon B- Has the most delicious springrolls, but with blue cheese, chicken and deep fried. Oh, Pavel. I miss you. Updated On: 4/11/06 at 11:34 PM

The food at the Edison can be variable, but as the owners of the restaurant are Holocaust survivors, I just wouldn't think of disparaging their business in a public forum. And that place is one-of-a-kind, one of the few vestiges left of the eccentric old Times Square.

For starters, Cornine, it is pretty much common knowledge that you do not work full time, so your excuse for not having enough time to make your site better is rather lame. Secondly if you can't look at your site objectively or take some constructive criticism (even if it is from someone you think "hates" you) that is too bad. However it doesn't take a professional journalist to read one of your interviews and ask "Shouldn't the questions all be in the same font and size?" That just looks very unprofessional. Nnd nobody, I mean NOBODY buys that crap about your site being "only for you".

Oh, and if you think the four people you mentioned in your PM to me are the only ones who don't think you are the most wonderful thing to happen to live theatre and the INTERNET you are more delusional than I thought.

This thread is making my head spin. I have three simple questions for Corine that are each in search of a simple answer:

1. Is Corine's Corner a site which you actively encourage people to visit?

2. Do people grant you interviews in order to have them published on Corine's Corner and help to publicize their careers?

3. How do you present yourself to the people when requesting an interview that makes them want participate?

Iflit. Normally I would agree with you - that those are easy questions to answer.

However, and I don't say this with any disrepect to Corine - but it's VERY clear she just doesn't care. Based on her PMs and postings - she has decided that regardless of how her website is perceived by any poster here or the industry in general that she is trying to support, she doesn't need to do anything but continue with her status quo.

It's unfortunate that she has decided (despite who the information is coming from) that the constructive criticisms and suggestions to better her site are to be dismissed. Apparently she is only concerned with her "fans" and positive reinforcement.

She's fortunate enough to work in a medium that affords these changes for the better and isn't restricted by the permanence of others. A website (having created several myself) is ALWAYS changing, improving, evolving. And it's not always about MORE. Sometimes it's about taking what you have and presenting it in the very best way.

Corine. I'll talk to you in a metaphor you will enjoy.

When you go to a restaurant. Would you rather get food that is presented beautifully on the plate, seasoned just right and is something you savor from bite to bite... or would you rather just get the food thrown onto the plate any old way without much care because the chef didn't care about how it looked - it just needed to be on the plate.

I hope you can you are able to step back for a moment and forget who is saying what and just pay attention to the sincere advice people are trying to give you. It's not trying to "bring you down".

Well, Craig, with all due respect...whether she claims to care or not, she has THREE links in her sig directing me to Corine's Corner.

So I think my questions are pretty fair and straightforward. And I'll be interested in hearing her reply.

And to expand on Craig's example, there is a restaurant here in Chicago that serves Pizza, Burgers, Steak, Pasta, Mexican, Stir-fry, and a whole slew of other mixed items. All the food is mediocre at best. Now if you have a hankering for Tacos and Grandma wants spaghetti it's a nice place to go to try to satisfy everyone. However, since they try to do so many different kinds of food none of it is truly satisfying.

PEACE.

I have long suspected that the "Corner" houses something akin to pure evil, I am now sure of it.
