I will like to take my lover to a romantic dinner in NYC next week. Preferably Italian and of course gay friendly. Don't mind pricey . But I would like a romantic setting. Any suggestions?

I've always liked Maria Pia on 51st (bt. Broadway and 8th). Lovely little place, delicious and reasonable food and wine, and lit almost entirely by candlelight.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I recommend Cafe Rafaella at 14th and 7th. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is perfect and it's very gay friendly. One of my favorite places to eat!

Il Riccio on 79th and Lexington - it is amazing.

Firenze on 2nd avenue and 82nd street (ish.) Amazing decor, and fantastic food.

Something dirt cheap?

Ristorante Del Sogno, 8th ave and 55th. Reminds me of the London Italiano joints, and makes a similarly styled lasagne. Affordable wine, too.

My favorite post-matinee place in the theatre district.

I might as well post this in this thread:

I am seeking a lover to take me out to a romantic Italian restaurant on Valentine's Day. I don't mind pricey either.
