One of the saddest things I've read in a while...
Another biggoted Republican.
Glad I don't live in Minnesota.
Barb Davis White, a Tea Party activist and Republican candidate for Minnesota's 5th Congressional District
Yech.
I was under the impression Rosa Parks didn't move anywhere on the bus, she simply refused to give up her seat in her section to a white man. I mean, I could be wrong, this is US history we're talking about and we've got MORE than enough history on this side of the Atlantic, so I only have the vaguest grasp on US history, but still. Don't tell me I've got a better understanding of US history than some USians! O_O
I sometimes think to myself that Republicans can't be all bad. Just because Democrats are portrayed as goodly and kind and wonderful and enlightened on the telemavision doesn't mean there aren't any decent Republicans out there. Then along comes another story like this, and I start thinking the telemavision speaks truth after all...
Anybody with the name "Barb" has no room to judge anyone else.
How the eff does she know what the eff Rosa Parks was supporting.
Weez,
That never even crossed my mind!
I was just so mad when I read the article, and the lies she was spewing.
Small-mided ignorant bigot.
Diva, if you lived in Minnesota, you could vote against her and all the other Republican idiots they seem to breed in politics up there.
Or, I can tell her exactly what I think of her on her Facebook page...

Good posts, Diva. I just don't want to have to become a fan of hers to leave a comment.
Oh, I'm sure she is going to remove me as soon as she sees what I posted...
LOL! Yep, I'm pretty sure she will!
I love how her icon says "Freedom and justice for ALL" yet she against gay marriage. Hypocritical much?!?!?
Someone posted a great swipe at her, but then took it down.
I think everyone should 'fan' her and then just fill her page with things.
I will, and then I'll remove the connection. Can you do that?
I think so...
Does she realize that Coretta Scott King was a huge supporter of gay rights and marriage equality, as was Mildred Loving of the famous Loving v. Virginia case, which prompted the Supreme Court to abolish anti-miscegenation laws?
"Homophobia is like racism and anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry in that it seeks to dehumanize a large group of people, to deny their humanity, their dignity and personhood. This sets the stage for further repression and violence that spread all too easily to victimize the next minority group." -- Coreetta Scott King, April 1, 1998
"I still hear people say that I should not be talking about the rights of lesbian and gay people. But I hasten to remind them that Martin Luther King, Jr. said, 'Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.' I appeal to everyone who believes in Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream, to make room at the table of brotherhood and sisterhood for lesbian and gay people." -- Coretta Scott King, November 2003
"Gay and lesbian people have families, and their families should have legal protection, whether by marriage or civil union... A constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages is a form of gay bashing and it would do nothing at all to protect traditional marriages." -- Coretta Scott King, March 24, 2004
"I am (still) not a political person, but I am proud that Richard's and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, black or white, young or old, gay or straight seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That's what Loving, and loving, are all about." -- MIldred Loving, June 12, 2007, The 40th Anniversary of Loving v. Virginia
Good quotes. Thank you.
I just became a "fan" and posted something. I agree with Diva about people becoming fans and flooding her page.
ETA: I just put this on my Facebook Status:
"I strongly suggest you visit this page: Barb Davis White for Minnesota And then become her "fan" and tell her what you really think."
I'm happy to say that one of my friends has already done so and left a fabulous comment.
Can you use the word "fabulous" on her fan page, or will it be censored for being too gay?
"Fabulous" is okay, but "Fierce" is definitely not allowed.
Shira, come into the Adult thread so I can smack you privately. Thank you.
I posted something on her page too!
