who are these people in the audience?
McCain is amazing -- everything he's said so far has contradicted itself!
McCain's Ebay exec suggestion for the Treasury might be taken the wrong way given that it's been highly publicized Ebay is laying people off at the moment. Might not be a fair association, but Americans don't vote with their heads.
McCain is all creepy. The cameras don't know how to follow him.
Just going on behavior (which so many Americans do)... McCain looks nervous, and Obama looks confident.
I wouldn't want to be there asking a question giving the creepy way McCain hovered over that guy!
McCain feels like a grandpa telling kids a story whereas Obama feels like he is talking to the audience as an equal.
Really? He's sticking with the "I suspended my campaign" crap?
I think it's pretty much the general opinion that campaign suspension was stupid.
If Obama doesn't want the finger pointing, she should really stop doing it.
Obama is much more on the "attack" tonight. He's definitely landing some punches. But that also takes away from him directly answering the questions. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing...

Just up to this moment, I don't see any scales tipping in the debate.
Obama doesn't need to respond to a cynical question by starting off with, "Okay, look..." That made me cringe.
Americans don't want to hear it, but our consumption based economy is unsustainable. We insist on the right to having the newest and best of everything, but what happens once we've used up all the world's resources?
The squiggly lines go flat when McCain talks

son_of_a_gunn_25, imagine the entire world trying to live at the same rate of consumption as the USA?
Impossible.
McCain just lost me completely. He's rambling, and totally off-question.
He's also "gasping" with a quiver between sentences. Not very confidence-inducing.
lol I noticed that....he opens his mouth and the lines go "____". I wish they could interact with each other more directly, I'm getting bored...
Krissy, if you haven't been to http://www.thestoryofstuff.com yet, definitely go check it out after the debate.
Which network shows the squiggly lines?
LOL
I guess we're all watching the flat-lines on CNN.
McCain is coming off as if he doesn't even believe what he's saying!!
Just like the matrix, the squiggly lines have me...
Obama just wiped up the floor with him.
A great answer.
CNN JGirl, I LOVE the squiggly lines!!
It's kind of cool, but would be better if the people were in individual rooms. Body language can make sentiment contagious.
I like Fiora's question!
