OY,
I have had a crush on Bierko for years. ( I met him and granted it was almost 4 years ago)
The time I met him he was charming. I have never heard a bad thing about him till this post.
He is such a dreamy man.
That smile he gave me at the Vnyl diner made the earth move under my feet.
Ah well!

Crowe's also known to demand total committment from himself and the actors around him on a shoot.

Any actor who doesn't expect to get a couple potatoes from a boxing movie shoot is a complete moron.

This is what happens when you let unknown stage actors try and hang with real movie stars, you know

Well Bierko is a movie star.
He has been in many films. My favorite was the 13th floor.
Craig is a great actor and so handsome.
Oh and his voice. When he said "Hello" AND SMILED AT ME, I thought I would melt all over the floor.
He is dreamy.
The only man that left me speechless.
I am not shy, but I could not speak!

Russel is a bit touchy about everything.
He should concentrate more on not coming across like the huge, gaping a-hole he is.
Man, I have to self-edit a lot when I think of Crowe.
I have NOT intention of seeing this film since every movie he's done since LA Confidential merely shows off his massive ego.

A. Craig Bierko is NOT a movie star. He is, however, a fabulous Robert Preston impersonator.

B. I, usually, am never an apologist for bad behavior. Yes, Crowe has a huge ego. But, honestly, he's a fabulous actor who works incredibly hard. He expects the best of everyone, but most of all, the best of himself. At least his not some no-talent dilettante screaming at the help like so many are.

What the hell was Bierko thinking when he decided to make unkind remarks about Crowe in the press? Honestly...that's where the bad behavior started.

But when was the last time you saw Bierko's name in the mainstream press? He knows what he is doing. If Tom and Katie can get all gooey to get some publicity, why can't Bierko and Crowe make all "bad boy" to promote thier BOXING movie where they play rivals? Makes perfect sense to me.

I don't think dedication and talent and any kind of demands as an actor are license to act the way Crowe acts. I'm honestly surprised anyone would even want to work with him but, given the yes-man environment that often pervades Hollywood, they keep going back to him.
I frankly save my money for someone who's very mug doesn't cause me to grimace.

Possibly people who actually work with Crowe don't think he's as difficult as people have decided he is or possibly people think the result of his work, despite the difficulty, is worth the hassles along the way.

Has there been any boxing movie made where the actors wanted the punches pulled? Certainly not 'Rocky,' 'Raging Bull' or 'Million Dollar Baby.'

Again, I make no apologies for bad behavior. I just don't see where the bad behavior is in this case. Bierko is upset that he and Crowe didn't bond? It's not summer camp, it's a job. And Sueleen, of COURSE you're right. I should have thought of it before my initial post. Please, if entire relationships can be carefully choreographed by pr firms, so can this little spat!

I have no intention of seeing 'Cinderella Man.' Sounds like another R.Crowe Oscar-bait project, and I haven't really enjoyed him in a film since L.A. Confidential.
