IMHO Bradley Manning is a treasonous traitor who should spend the rest of his life in jail for leaking national military secrets (and he will). He also named names of secret military intelligence sources and put their lives in danger. SF Pride made the right decision. There is no "oh he's gay and sensitive, let's give him a pass."

Not according to the Veterans for Peace, he didn't. Then again, I suppose they're "treasonous traitors" for saying they're for peace.
BB, the corporate sleaze article reminds me of something I will paraphrase that Marge said on The Simpons a few weeks back: "Springfield is very welcoming. Our Pride Parade even had a gay float this year."
TD, I think they've all be Marshallized. Probably even Cece Peniston.

Well you may think your opinion is humble, but it's not humble enough. Bradley Manning had not been convicted of anything yet.
His trial starts in June, and he will either be exonerated or convicted. And then people can decide, in their "humble" opinions, whether they feel justice has been served by the court-martial.
That said, deciding that your best bet for a FABULOUS parade Grand Marshall is an accused criminal awaiting trial is not really a very smart way to unite the "community," unless your goal is to generate controversy, in which case this has been a complete success.

Posted: 4/27/13 at 7:41pmAre they out of Drag Race and LGBT-friendly Idol contestants already so they tried to invite someone awaiting trial to be grand marshal? No less high profile Margaret Cho type available? I think they were just trolling for publicity.

According to the newest report, someone from the "Electoral College" said that Manning was chosen and everyone else ran with it. The official SF Pride Board did not choose him.
It was some fun drama for a few days. Each side had words.
