One of my biggest regrets is that I never got to see Shirley Bassey perform live. She is the only Diva still on my bucket list. She is just never performing anywhere near me. I came very close over 25 to 30 or so years ago. She was appearing in concert at the Marquis Theater in NYC shortly after it had opened. There happen to be tickets available for that evenings show at the tkts booth. I was standing in line waiting to get one and I met this guy from Boston. Ended up going back with him to his hotel and putting on our own show for the evening. I guess she doesn't tour anymore?

Let us never forget that it is Dame Shirley Bassey.

Surely you remember this...

And Dame Shirley opened the Marquis Theatre. (Somebody had to do it.) She was like a test run for Me and My Girl which came in a month or so later and ran 4 years.

They are doing a James Bond tribute. So I am sure it will feature Shirley and Adele.

Yes, sounds like that is what Miss Bassey will be singing at the Oscars. Hopefully they can get Carly Simon to croon "Nobody Does It Better" from THE SPY WHO LOVED ME.

If that's the case they really should get Carly to sing "Nobody Does It Better" it will serve a dual purpose as a salute to James Bond *and* Mr. Hamlisch, who composed it.

Doesn't Carly Simon have a fear of performing on live TV shows? I recall that in the early 90s they pre-taped an appearance on an Awards show to accommodate that. Would be great if they got her.

Diva. She did. Her last tour is airing on tv for mothers day. She performs it.
