SNL Does It Again

I must've been watching a different show than the rest of you because I thought it was boring. The audience was pretty unresponsive for most of the show too, which didn't help, and a few sketches ended awkwardly. I thought the Cialis ad was the funniest bit of the night.
I saw the library set behind Mark Twain, Superman, and the storm trooper in the monologue. What was that sketch about?

Posted: 2/8/10 at 11:25amSNL, the library sketch was a commercial for a local library, making fun of how they're kind of lost and outdated in the Internet age (having to use the card catalog, microfiche, magazines from a decade ago, old videos to rent, etc)

I love Garth and Kat.
I was baffled by the ancient Rome sketch. My minds reels with possibilities for Ashton Kutcher as a slave boy, but . . .

Posted: 2/8/10 at 12:20pmI think Garth and Kat are hysterical. I laughed harder at them than anything on SNL in a while, and I thought last episode was really funny.

Calvin, I like the sound of that sketch. I'd rather have seen that than Slave Boy or the old lady's will. Any other interesting dress bits that were cut?
Oh, and for the record, I think Ashton stuffs.

I thought the library thing was funny but overly long. Perhaps it'll reappear in a future episode? Apparently the wedding sketch was originally done when Jon Hamm hosted the first time but was cut.
I was planning on watching the show actual tonight, so I can let you know later if I noticed any other major cuts. The only one I know of right now is that the Burn Notice game show originally had a lightning round bit at the end with a bunch of pictures, where Ashton had to pick just one photo that had something to do with Burn Notice. He picked a photo of Taye Diggs first, then a picture of Tony Shalhoub which made him lose, because it was that game show's version of a Whammy.

Calvin, The wedding sketch was done for the first time last season. It was cut after dress.

Just for funsies, here's the main cuts/changes I noticed after seeing the show, besides the library and the game show's bonus round:
*Karl Rove made Liberace and Rock Hudson jokes in the opening sketch, and attractive blonde lady said "It's Jimmy Carter all over again" instead of pointing to her boobs at the end.
*In the will reading sketch, Ashton's character originally was a indeterminately Latino poolboy type instead of the blond surfer type guy
*On The View sketch, Mel Gibson originally didn't talk about the movie at all and instead talked about doing a practical joke where he locked a Jew in a closet.
*Ashton had a digital short about a new social networking site called Tooter.
*There was a sketch where Bill Heder played Jesse Ventura, hosting some sort of conspiracy theories show.
*The wedding sketch was originally longer, with the dad dancing with his daughter at the end.
