the glory days were late '80s and mid-90s. while there were some memorable times during that period, i think that snl's definitive "glory days" were seasons 1-5. the collective talent of the core cast from that period has never been matched in an ensemble since. there have been stars that shone as brightly, but never a cast as a whole that from top to bottom was just a buncha ringers.
