StageManager2: You know, I can't remember which Prince you met...

The one in the photo (singing) is Chris. He's a very lovely man. Then other gorgeous gentleman is Matt, and he's actually playing the Huntsman (on the ground, helping Snow White up). They both would switch off, and play the other role. (Like the Queen/Hag track.) And we had a few other Princes, as well...

You know, StageManager2, now that I think about it, I think you met my friend Stuart. Who is also gorgeous. It's sort of a requirement for the role. hehehe

Congratulations on a great run!!! I saw Snow White just about the time I was playing Queen Aggravain and said "Damn, now I want to play that Queen.=) If it was you I saw, AWESOME!! A friend of mine, Joey Minich, was one of the Dwarfs early on in the run.

Best of luck on the new show!

TheaterMO2: You and Erika could be sisters.

TheaterMO2: You look AWESOME! =) Thanks so much for the congrats. I was in it at the same time as Joey (I started in May of '04), but I have no idea if you saw me or not...there were quite a few of us. re: SNOW WHITE (at Disneyland) is closed.

StageManager2: I know! And I'll be working with most of them again in that Princess show I was talking about, too. MWAH-hahahaha!

bwaysinger: Well, er... They are seven men living together in a very small house... Hmmmmm....

Thanks Erika! I see that you did Starlight here in San Diego. I did three seasons with them. Last show I did was Jekyll & Hyde. Fun times!!!

Egads. TheatreMO, is the Starlight Lady still around?

Ah, Starlight. I counted 32 pauses I had to do onstage during our opening number.

Wow! We're having a Starlight Reunion! One of our Evil Queens did Wizard of Oz there this summer, and having never worked there before, she looked at me very blankly when I asked her about the Starlight Lady. So, I guess she's gone.

bwaysinger: What show(s) did you do?

TheaterMO2: I'm really good friends with Melissa Hoff! (Née Walters...I believe she was your Emma.)

I had the glorious opportunity to freeze MULTIPLE times when I played Jack in Into the Woods there.
I was cast in a couple of other shows but had to bow out due to, frankly, better opportunities.
How sad the Lady is gone. At least they always have the flight path.

You know, I had heard rumors that the old girl was leaving. Sad, she was the $$$ behind Starlight for a long time. The first show I did with them was South Pacific. This time they got a wild idea to use the planes as part of the show. So in place of freezing when they went over all the sailors went running to the edge of the stage and cheered them on. The audience that it was the best thing since sliced bread....

Erika,It has been a while since J & H, you are probably correct. Beautiful voice and person! I did Oz with them in 2001 and played the Tin Man. What fun that was. This time I got to freeze even when the jets wern't flying by =)

Yes, well, we were relatively lucky in Fiddler, as it was particularly foggy the whole run, so the planes were fairly few and far-between. However, I LOVED the moment when we all had to freeze right in the middle of the break-up of the wedding (when the Russians come in and turn over all the tables and knock down Perchik, and it's supposedly high drama), and DURING the freeze, this big metal stein just went rolling, rolling, rolling towards the edge of the stage and PLOP! right into the orchestra pit.

How's the Princess Fairy Faire coming along, Erika?

And do you have any scoop on the Aladdin show when it re-opens next week?

Type_A_Tiff: The "Disney Princess Fantasy Faire" is coming along fine, thanks. Personally, I am nowhere near being ready, but hopefully I'll be able to focus more on the Disney show once "Anything Goes" opens this week. (Remind me never to rehearse two shows at once again.) I have no info on "Aladdin"... I know they're currently training new folks to come in to the cast, but I haven't heard about any changes or anything like that. (I didn't even know it was closed right now...)

neddyfrank2: That's what I heard.

Might I get to see you in the Fairy Faire next weekend? re: SNOW WHITE (at Disneyland) is closed.

lol... First of all, it's the "Disney Princess Fantasy Faire." It's not a "Fairy Faire." There are no fairies in the show - well, apart from some of the lovely male dancers, I suppose. (Bad joke, I know. But I knew if I didn't say it, someone else would.)

Secondly, no, you definitely won't see me at Disneyland next weekend, as I will be playing Reno in "Anything Goes" all weekend, and every weekend through November 12th. We do 6 shows a week, Thurs, Fri, Sat, & Sun evenings and Sat and Sun matinees.

LMAO at the "Fairy Faire"! I actually just snorted.

Too bad on not getting to see you! I was hoping to make this trip over Labour Day weekend so I could check out Snow White. re: SNOW WHITE (at Disneyland) is closed.

Oh! Plus, the "Disney Princess Fantasy Faire" doesn't even open until October. We don't have a firm opening date yet, but I think it's going to be the 10/7.

Double "Oh!" Just saw your reply. Yeah, you called it a "Fairy Faire" twice! lol And "Snow White" is closed, which I think you know. So, I wouldn't bother coming to Disneyland this weekend if you were planning on seeing a show at the Fantasyland Theater.

Now, if you want to come see me in "Anything Goes," that's another story! re: SNOW WHITE (at Disneyland) is closed.

Here's the theater wesbite:

I'll actually be arriving on 10/7 and leaving on 10/9, so it's a bit of a whirlwind trip. We land on 10/7 in the morning, dash to Disneyland, then spend 10/8 at Cali Adventure and 10/9 in Malibu or LA (I need to start a thread asking for advice on that and I'd love your input!), and I *think* 10/7 is when the Fantasy Faire and the new Aladdin open. Exciting!

I'd love to see Anything Goes. I'll find out of my travel mates are up for it (they've got Disney on the brain and intend to spend morning til close there...) and I'll keep you posted!

Ah.... When you initially said "next weekend," I thought you meant the weekend of 9/29, 9/30, 10/1.

You definitely are doing a bit of a whirlwind, aren't you? If you can't make it to "Anything Goes," I will more than understand.

As for your Disney trip, just be aware that the "Fantasy Faire" is really seriously geared to children. Young children. And "Aladdin" is over in California Adventure - and they aren't changing anything, as far as I know. It's not a "new Aladdin." It's just a remount. You know, new cast members. So if you've seen if before, you'll be seeing the same show. =)

You know you can buy a park-hopper ticket and save money by going to both parks in one day, right?

I had actually planned to skip Fantasy Faire until you mentioned you were going to sub in it. re: SNOW WHITE (at Disneyland) is closed. If you're not planning on being there next weekend, I'll likely take a pass.

I read that Aladdin was changing something to do with the Genie, but I didn't realize it was just a cast change. Has the Hyperion been re-modelled? I haven't seen it (the theatre OR the show) before so I'm really excited.

Is it realistic to think I can quickly run between both parks? We'll be getting a 2-day park hopper but I'm wondering if we'll be wasting a lot of time doing that. How far is it by foot from entrance to entrance? (And do you have any restaurant and attraction recommendations?)

It must be a lot of fun to work at Disney, but a bit draining!

From entrance to entrance, it's less than 30 seconds by foot. I mean, they're right next to each other.

To walk all the way from the far end of one park to the far end of the other park would take about 25 minutes, I'd say. (You could do it faster, but at a normal walk, I think that's about right.)

I am a complete neophyte as far as DCA goes. I've only been there twice, and only for a brief time each time. I can definitely recommend Soaring Over California, though. It's awesome. And I hear the roller coaster's great. (It was closed when I was there. Yes, both times.)

Disneyland-wise, I'd recommend Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Peter Pan's Flight. Those are my personal favorites.

My favorite restaurant is the Blue Bayou in New Orleans Square. It's pretty expensive, though.

ETA: No clue about the Hyperion...I didn't hear anything about a remodel, but it's a nice theater. And still pretty new. Updated On: 9/24/06 at 05:58 PM
