STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

Just curious when you stopped caring or lost interest in this film series.

I think the last one I saw was the third one.

Was there a third one?

re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

when they hired haden christianwhatshisname to play Darth Vader....white boy can't act...ugh. That scene where he was all like "someday I will be the most powerful jedi" made me actually shudder. UGH!!
Was that a fat joke?

re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

I've seen them all....but, because of how they were released I am probably totally confused......

After I saw the first one like 15 years ago. I don't see the appeal.

Monkey, never caring is certainly OK.

For me, Star Wars was fun and a terrific time at the movies, the second one was OK, I think. By the third one, I dunno. As you can tell, I don't know if I even saw it. Like Elphaba I just started getting confused.

Are they really up to 5?

I'd rather hear MY FAIR LADY one more time. LOL

I liked the original ones. I was in third or fourth grade when the last one came out. By the time the preguels were here, I was an adult and had beter things on my mind/

re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

I still care. A bit. I enjoy them for what their worth, but I'm by no means a die hard fan.

I look at SW as two seperate series. Original ones were pure genius. The prequels are enteraining if nothing else. Yes the script sucks though, makes parts painful to watch.

I think Hayden hasn't gotten a good role really. He deserves better than SW to show off what he can do. People were accusing Natalie Portman of bad acting, but it's just the SW script, she's incredible.

re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

Nathalie has won my respect during the last year, but she sucked in the first two SW prequels

Half way through the press screening of Return of the Jedi. It might have been the Ewoks. The happy family circle at the end was the final nail.

I've never even seen the three remakes.

re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

I have seen every one in the theatre.
I was really little when I saw Star Wars. All I knew was that I wanted to be Princess Liea (Damn that spelling). Or at least, I had all her figures.
Hated Empire.
Loved Jedi.

Then, it was rereleased. Saw Star Wars again in the theatre. I found it long and boring. Skipped Empire and Jedi (Though I always loved Sny Sootless)
Then Episode 1 came out, and I hated it.
Episode 2 came out, and I hated it even more. It's gotten to the point where I have no clue what the hell is going on anymore.
Unfortunately, due to tradition, I am dragging my reluctant self to see the third one.
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

Speaking of, there's a new episode coming out in May...Revenge of the Sith...sry, I'm uber-tired, and didn't realize if anyone already mentioned this. I still haven't seen a single episode of Star Wars--I only know this b/c I made a calander for my Star Wars-obsessed friend in one of my classes.

re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

Still care a lot and cannot wait to see Episode Three. re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

I agree that Episode One and Two didn't live up to the old movies (although I enjoyed them a lot as I saw them for what they were - a necessary introduction), Episode Three promises to be an excellent movie.

Both Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman are wondeful actors, please don't just judge them on their work in Star Wars. All actors involved have expressed their concern about how they had to portray their characters in previous Episodes.

As jrb_actor mentioned, if anyone cares to find out what an amazing actor Hayden Christensen is should check out Life As A House and Shattered Glass.

And for anyone who can't even keep track of the Episodes (and to our Namo who calls the new movies remakes)... re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?
Episode 4, 5 and 6 were the original movies (the famous trilogy) and released in the 70s. They started off with Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker etc.
Episode 1 (as the name suggests) starts from the very beginning (before the old episodes) with Anakin Skywalker (Luke's dad) as a little boy and Obi Wan as a young man, Episode Two is set 10 years later and now Episode Three explains how Anakin is seduced by the the dark side of the force and eventually becomes Darth Vader. Easy, right? re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

So YES, I still care a lot (Jose you asked for it re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?) and I know where I will be on May 19th.

re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

I lost interest, when my wife and I fell asleep watching STAR WARS during its initial release in 1977. The only time that ever happened to either of us. We just fell sound asleep. All these years and three sons who loved it later, I feel the exact same way. Don't get its appeal, at all.

re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

Well, I've never really been into Sci-Fi movies...at all, but I watch those Episode 1 movies with my brother, only good part of it was Ewan McGregor (damn the beard!)

I'd like to second that that Hayden guy could not act, I'm sure in other movies, but Star Wars..not so much...

I'd much rather watch Chicago

re: STAR WARS -- When did you stop caring?

You can either act or you can't. You might have not enjoyed his portrayal or thought he was wrong for the part but that boy can certainly act. But if you're judging Star Wars on Ewan (and his beard) then it's certainly not the right movie for you.

Hayden was not in Episode 1, FYI.

::nods:: QM, that's sort of what I meant, meaning Star Wars just never works out for me
