re: SURVIVOR: Gabon - Official Fan & Discussion Thread

You know, I honestly thought that Fang was about to make a wise decision last night, in realizing that that was their ONE chance to blindside Sugar. But then....they disappointed me. I would love to know what their rationale for not voting out Sugar was.

re: SURVIVOR: Gabon - Official Fan & Discussion Thread

Voting out GC is the dumbest thing they could've done. Get the votes together to pull off an Ace/Sugar split so that the idol would come out and one of them would go.

I would've been nervous with GC around too, because he was a childish asshole, but comeon!

Matt, Chrystal did mention how cocky (lazy and useless implied) Sugar has been right after they found the idol.

I'm confused...Corrinne was the one who said she was a bitch? I thought it was the actual bitch who was first voted off.

No way about Marcus...haha. I think the Giorgio-Fosca effect is taking place...very intersting. I think I like Corrinne so much because she reminds me of how I would play the game. To play the game of "Survivor" your morals have to get down and dirty, and by thinking of yourself as a bitch you don't experience the psychological effects of the game. I like Sugar's plan so long as she jumps ship soon. Fang is just...ughhhh. There is no winning with them. Personally, I think Ace, Sugar and Matty should form an alliance and vote off Crystal, Kelly and Kenny.

Good eyes, PRS! I just recovered it on my DVR to fast forward to that challenege, and, sure enough, Marcus's mouth met Charlie's shoulder.

I hope Crystal and Randy both make the merge and go head-to-head in a challenge so she can kick his a*s.

I just think Randy is so vile and nasty, but that's not really saying much with this group.

And yeah, Kelly's a lump, but Jeeeeeeeeezus - are they just going to NOT vote for Sugar and Ace BECAUSE she has the friggin idol? What is wrong with them?

And also yeah, that snake thing was heavy, but Crystal? Come on. Wait - did she compete in a sprint or an endurance event in the Olympics? Either way, I find her to be pretty damn useless, too. But realy, all of Fang is virtually useless. Matty and Kenny might not be if they had better players around them, but gah.

And why can't someone just say to Dan, "Quit eating so much effing food?"

re: SURVIVOR: Gabon - Official Fan & Discussion Thread

Pretty embarrassing that an Olympic athlete had to drop out of that challenge. Whether she was a distance runner or sprinter is irrelevant. The point is, you expect Olympic athletes to be athletic. Bob the Physics Teacher, who is much older than Crystal, toughed it out.

I'm convinced the people of Fang are just complete idiots. They have the right idea, with these discussions about blind-siding people, but then never follow through. It's the complete lack of leadership. No one is strong enough to say, "This is what we need to do, we're gonna do it." The second Kenny found out Crystal got the idol back from Ace, they should have voted Ace out immediately. Yes, Kellie was a liability and needed to go, but put it off in the name of smart game play. For two weeks in a row they've screwed that up.

I was just trying to be nice and give her the benefit of the doubt. I totally agree with you. She does have a likability quality to her and she makes some good points at times, but she's just pretty useless, too.

And while I don't particularly care for Sugar, I thought it was kind of touching that she was crying at Exile Island not because they keep sending her back, but because she feels bad she's got it so much better than the rest of the tribe when she's there.

You know, wow, I actually meant to write that it was the first smart move SUGAR has made this entire game. And, Sugar had to be guided (very carefully and tactfully) towards this decision by Kenny.

But yeah, Crystal seems a bit unstable.

What is up with next week? Obviously they're merging (which is good news for Bob and Suzie), but did you see how cocky Randy suddenly got? The fact that they devoted the ENTIRE "Next time on Survivor" segment to him tells me something epic is going to take place!

Omigoodness... did anyone notice the careful editing SURVIVOR did last Thursday (October 30) when the names were being read during Fang's tribal council?

One of the pieces of parchment Jeff read outloud had the name: ACE written on it, with the second portion of the writing blurred out (hiding the -HOLE)

No lie... watch the webisode and pause it!

Only a few minutes into tonight's episode, and all I can say is:

I. HATE. RANDY.

I have to say, those losers are playing the game way better than I gave them credit for. That's two strong players they took out. This has been a wierd season. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE when players turn the game around like that. It's my favorite part of Survivor.

re: SURVIVOR: Gabon - Official Fan & Discussion Thread

I was really sad to see Marcus go, but that was fantastic strategy. Kenny and Crystal are really stepping it up while the Kota members are getting a bit too complacent. Susie saw the writing on the wall at the last tribal council and Marcus just didn't do enough backpedaling to reassure her about her placement in the alliance. And Susie knew that if her name came up on so many ballots then perhaps she's on thinner ice than she thought.

And what was up with Sugar getting all upset about voting Ace off? Did she really think he was going to take her to the end? Did she believe that if he did, she would win? And if she really wants to blame others for the decision SHE MADE HERSELF at tribal council, then she really needs to get off my TV screen.

Charlie's going to be a hot mess when he sees that his boyfriend was voted off.

Kenny and Crystal are doing surprisingly well, but Susie is not going to be enough for them. If there is a merge soon, Bob will run right back into the arms of Charlie, Corrine and Randy. Matty and Sugar will join forces, but it will only earn Sugar another week at most and they know they will be gone as soon as Kenny's gang are eliminated unless they rely on individual immunity to carry them through. Honestly, the best-case scenario right now is for Kota to lose and vote out Bob and pray they can convince Matty and Sugar to join them or temporarily align with Charlie, Corrine and Randy to blindside Sugar and then eliminate Matty. Then it would be an interesting 3-3 matchup. But if Fang loses next week, it could make things a bit worse for Kenny's gang. At least one of them needs to start working on Rob immediately and get him to believe that with the others, his best shot is 4th place and make him a better offer.

And Randy...SHUT UP!

I thought something very similar!

Corrine won't be happy: playing second fiddle was easier than leading the alliance, and now she has to work. Charlie will be devastated, but in the end he'll be better cuz he'll have to start playing the game, haha. I definently don't think Susie, Kenny, Crystal, Matty and Sugar will have a hard time aligning at all. It's all based on the drifters right now: Sugar, Matty, Susie and Bob. They will take the game to where it will go.

I'm finding it hard to get into this season, even though it's already to the jury stage. They keep switching everyone around and when I start to like a side, they mix them up again.

Do you think Bob has realized yet that he's (still) on the far outside of the Kota Alliance? If (and it's a big if) the Kota group can stick together, they'll knock off Suzie first, then him. He's got to be smart enough to realize that. He's got to form himself a new alliance where he can get further than 4th place.

Kenny, who I used to not like, has proven himself to be quite strategic and a really great game-player. I LOVED how he called out Marcus on his "bullsh*t."

Matty just seems like kind of an idiot, along with Sugar. What was she whining about? Did she really believe Matty? I hope she doesn't apologize to Ace.
