This AND Amazing Race at the same time?! A cure my end of summer blues...

Can't wait, though I won't watch until this weekend on demand. Thursday nights are too taxing for tv fans! Why can't they spread some love to Wednesdays when, until Pushing Daisies starts, there's nothing on!

For obvious reasons, Bob the physics teacher is my favorite. Unfortunately, I see a lot Yao-Man in him, which means he'll do well, but won't win.

I am still devoted to Survivor. Even in it's 17th season!

(And can't wait for Amazing Race, also. Yay for the new TV season!)

I agree Boy From Ohio, this season looks AMAZING in HD. The landscapes alone are gorgeous.

Yes, please make a clear warning. PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THE SPOILERS. I like to be surprised. Thank you.

Now - I have a love/hate relationship with this show. I always say I'm gonna skip it and I always come back to it.

My brief intital thoughts -

The HD. It looks so good!

Randy is a douche.

Jacquie must have never watched the show if he doesn't forsee them ever losing. Hubris, honey. Hubris.

I thought I was gonna be uncomfortable with Charlie's overt unrequited love for ... is it Marcus? Anyway, I thought the guy whose name might be Marcus handled it well, seemed flattered and not icked out, and wasn't going to exploit that. Good on him, I say. I like them both.

I felt bad for GC and the leader BS. He was right to call them all out on it that if they wanted a leader so bad, one of them should step up. I thought he DID make an admirable effort at worst, but I really don't blame him for telling them to shove it.

Jeff can really be a tool, too, but I thought what he said to Fang after they almost won that challenge was nice.

I think a two hour premiere is a brilliant idea. This is the first season where I felt like I had a general handle on the players after the first episode.

I dunno. Maybe others will disagree, but I thought this season is off to a really good start.

Marcus was my favorite tonight. I agree with you, Ghost of Kringas, about how he handled Charlie.

I'm assuming this cast has watched other Survivor seasons so they know they're going to be wearing the same clothes they arrive in. I don't understand why some of them chose suits and dresses. I would want to be in more comfortable, casual clothing if I was going to have to wear it for 39 days.

I was a little disappointed with one team dominating the competitions again this season. The producers need to come up with a better way to divide the teams so the competitions are more evenly matched.

I loved seeing the baby elephants! :)

Yeah, I was suprised at how many guys wear wearing jackets and ties.

Do we have to say spoilers if the episode has aired? I'd say not, but just in case I'M TALKING ABOUT STUFF FROM THE EPISODE LAST NIGHT THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED A SPOILER ---

My first instinct when Dan couldn't figure out the exile island clue was "What a dumb ass," but then I thought that I could see myself being on the show and just not comprehending like that. Poor guy. That whole team is kinda dumb, though. You know they'll mix them up within a few weeks, though.

I think this has the makings of a pretty good season. I am disappointed in the mismatched teams. It definitely takes away from the fun of watching the challenges. I can hear it now, Jeff saying, "Fang, you have to sit seven people out...who's it gonna be?"

They definitely made Dan look like a dumbass...not sure if he is one or not. I love how Crystal would not believe that he didnt have the idol. I assume that that first clue will only send you to another clue, not the immunity idol.

I really like the alliance of four, which surprises me...I usually go for the underdogs. If they can get "the professor" to align they could be unbeatable.

Why is noone else, save gillian and the other old lady, forming alliances? Usually there are tons of promises being made in the first few days.

Ace is total douchebag, and I hope the first target on their team.

The men wear suits so they have an excuse to run around in their underwear.

Charlie really needs to step back. He was getting a bit creepy. He's like Natalie from Big Brother. Eeek! I kept waiting for him to say, "He says he's straight, but I know he loves me." It really started to make me uncomfortable.

At least he can take comfort in being the middle of Marcus's onion. Or something.

Ha! Like I've said a million times, I have such a love/hate relationship with the show. In the course of an episode I always wind up hating someone at the beginning and liking them near the end, etc. Plus I'm in a Survivor pool and I have to have my picks by next week and I have NO idea who to choose. I think I'm going to let my dog pick for me.

I'm gonna just give Charlie a pass for now, but it almost seems invetiable that I'm going to hate him, because I always wind up hating the gay men on Survivor. re: SURVIVOR: Gabon - Official Fan & Discussion Thread

For those who care, "Little" Marcus made an appearance in one of the challenges shown on Thursday night.

HAHA yes DBillyP, I caught that and thanks to DVR frame advance, one can see little marcus flop out for some air. Either the editors missed it, or someone left it in for a little controversy. You would miss it if you blinked.
