I'm against the death penalty, but if you're going to have it, it does make sense to me to do it within 30 days of the appeal. I mean, heck, if one of the so-called reasons for the death penalty is to provide closure to victims' families, than certainly waiting 20 years like we do in the U.S. seems pretty pointless and a waste of everyone's money and time, doesn't it?
oy, I can't believe people are in favor of the death penalty, especially the way it's done in the U.S. I mean, after 20 years, what's the point exactly?

"I mean, after 20 years, what's the point exactly?"
Don't forget, some condemned prisoners are innocent all along. Take for example, the case of Ruben Cantu, who was executed only 8 years (1993) after his murder conviction, but who investigators now claim was most likely framed. Had he had the "luxury" of waiting 20 years, he would've been exonerated.
I don't agree with capital punishment, either, and it sickens me that it's still a way of life (ironically) in this country. As Namo said earlier, it's just a revenge issue. It doesn't solve anything, except give people the satisfaction of killing someone.
