It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story...

What sad news on Christmas. We saw her several times at The Cafe Carlyle and there was no one like her. PalJoey'sPal will be very very sad.

Oh wow.
Her Santa Baby came up on the radio last night, and I hadn't heard it yet this season. It was so refreshing to hear someone do that song right, unlike every screechy pop singer from the last few years.
She'll be missed.
She'll be missed.

For some reason, this doesn't make me sad. She had a lifeforce that even death can't extinguish.
A couple of terrific interviews with her:

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

This is sad news. Why on Christmas? I just heard her on the radio on the way home from my sister's.

Oh no... I'm more upset abotu this than I think I think I'm comfortable explaining. I guess no more "Emperor's New..." franchise-- it won't be the same without Yzma.

I think she actually died yesterday.

I'm so glad I got to see her perform in Nine several years ago. She was a wonderful performer and was HIllarious in that role (which i can't remember the name of off the top of my head).
