Cool that she was in The Wizard of Oz and had met Judy Garland. I never knew that. I adore her Jitterbug number on the CD.

What?

Is it a phrasing thing? I didn't know that Eartha Kitt, who was in the Wizard of Oz national tour with Mickey Rooney, had also met Judy Garland. Of course I knew that Mickey knew Judy, but I did not know that Eartha Kitt did as well. Then I added the comment about enjoying Eartha Kitt's Jitterbug song on the CD that was recorded of the production.

Oh, the tour...

Brain fart!

re: Sadness - Eartha Kitt RIP

I have been imagining Eartha say Corrrrrrrrrrrrrrrine all day.

re: Sadness - Eartha Kitt RIP

Maybe if Corine was there, she could have saved her.

I blame Eartha dying on Corine and her ankle.

Eartha must have felt sympathy pains and it killed her.

I hope you're happy now, Corine.

It's as if Jesus Baby is trying to send a message about the materialistic side of Christmas.

Don't you mean 'Baby Jeebus'?

Sitting Shiva for dead celebrities...I think that's going to be my new thing.

Whenever a celebrity dies--or a sock puppet!--I will post endless YouTubes every night for seven nights, until it is clear to everyone on the board that I am the most affected by the celebrity's death--ME, PalJoey, not Corine, not Dollypop.

All celebrity deaths from hereafter affect ME the MOST. Starting with Eartha, who signed my "Eartha Quake" boxed set of CDs containing everything Eartha ever recorded.

EVER!

I am the most affected.

That's incredibly affected. Point of interest: Can you use a computer when sitting shiva?

re: Sadness - Eartha Kitt RIP

(Rolls eyes at Namo) Darling, Eartha and I had very little in common. I was just her fan.

I was just sharing an amazing experience with EARTHA. It made my day and I was touched and was sharing.
PS Who ever said I was poor? I am not rich but am not poor.

"Can you use a computer when sitting shiva?"

I think so. You just can't cook, so people have to bring a lot of food over.

re: Sadness - Eartha Kitt RIP

Corine, I never delete my private messages. Ever. Shall I go back and dig out the countless times you've written of being out of a job, broke and potentially-homeless-soon?

A LOT.

And you do it in the threads too. That's why other people -- who are not me -- frequently point out how you cry poor and then suddenly talk of stufffed bears that cost you in the thousands of dollars. I'm sorry if your stories don't add up, but that's your fault, not the fault of readers.

I just assumed that Eartha chose you because she sensed a hunger, be it emotional, relational, financial... foodal. All of these are things she understood. I'm not surprised she gravitated to you.

I sense a hunger--and I'm still in mourning for Eartha Kitt.

Jane--could you make me some scrambled eggs?

Eartha loved them so...
