There's a BIG difference in a possible state senator whom everyone knows at least by name and a complete unknown trying to becoming VP.

The only thing scarier than Sarah Palin is the pack of Repubs who will vote for her.
Quick! Someone call for a Waahmbulance.
Sarah Palin was "exploited" by Sarah Palin
“It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out and I think that as we watch that we will perhaps be able to prove that there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy versus, say, the scrutiny of what her candidacy may be.”
Umm, Kennedy is not a "candidate" for anything. It's an appointment, with no voting, so not really the same need for scrutiny.
“Because of however it works in that upper echelon of power brokering in the media and with spokespersons, it was told to me that, yeah, we are going to go back for more."
Seriously, does everyone in Alaska speak in this way that is oddly different in its desiring to be the speaker of language like the rest of us? Eh?
"Looking back on the Couric interviews, Palin said she knew things were not going well after their first session and asked the McCain campaign to pull the plug on the remaining sit downs but insisted the campaign made her go through with the rest."
It looks like she needs to pull the plug on giving interviews period. She can't blame the campaign on this one.
I think I remember Palin saying at the time that she was the one who insisted on more sessions because she didn't think it was going well and wanted a chance to do better. Not that the truth or reality mean anything to this woman.
it's an appointment, with no voting, so not really the same need for scrutiny.
i think that with an appointment there's an even higher need for scrutiny since the public has no say.
I know that a lot of people are capitalizing on, oh I don’t know, perhaps some exploiting that was done via me, my family, my administration. That’s a little bit perplexing, but it also says a great deal about our society....
"And my question to the campaign was, after it didn’t go well the first day, why were we going to go back for more? Because of however it works in that upper echelon of power brokering in the media and with spokespersons, it was told to me that, yeah, we are going to go back for more. And going back for more was not a wise decision either."
Sarah, darling, it's not that they're exploiting you.
It's YOU.
You're a frigging moron.

I have to say I agree with Papa.

Has Caroline Kennedy said to any reporter anything as relentlessly stupid as what Sarah Palin said to Couric?
Poor little Sarah Palin. Her daughter's a slut, her grandchiled is a bastard, her future son-in-law is a dropout, her prospective in-law is a drug pusher, and it is all the media's fault.
Any news on the upcoming wedding? Is that ever going to happen?

I agree with Palin- Kennedy HAS been treated differently because of her class.
Caroline has some.
"I have to say I agree with Papa."
I'm with Papa on this as well. Caroline Kennedy would have probably been one of the last people I would have considered for the position. Now...if her brother were still alive.

I think Caroline not talking to the media is just as egregious as the Palin handlers keeping her under wraps. I also see the exact same sense of entitlement with "because she really wants it" underlying Caroline's desire to be handed the Senate seat that Palin had for the VP job. So, on the one hand I agree with Palin's assessment of the way the two women are being handled, but I'm not sure why I'm surprised that she doesn't see that she, Palin, was just as undeserving.
And also too as well besides I am appalled/fascinated by her speech patterns as I ever was as well.
and as far as it being a campaign, libby holtzman was on brian lehrer's show yesterday talking about her campaign for the seat.
As far as agreeing with Papa, I just meant the general point about appointees vs. electees.

No, because she's not talking either. And she was never much of a talker to the media during all of her "Caroline's a very private person" decades.
Acually, I kinda LOVE her use of the word "via":
"...some exploiting that was done via me, my family, my administration..."
Where does she get things like that?
"Via"...
paterson seems to be taking this thing seriously. i will be interested to see what kind of support he gets for his re-elction campaign.
so ya wanna be a senator?

She gets it con Dios, PJ.
In all honesty, she reminds me of incarcerated people trying to impress parole boards. (Yes, I've had prisoner pen pals!)
I was going to make a snarky comment asking if her 15 minutes of fame was up yet...
When I googled 15 Minutes Of Fame, look what popped up!

Don't kid yourselves, folks, this woman's 15 minutes of fame will NEVER be up. She will be a permanent part of our lives forever. She's not going away. Ever. She's going to seize every opportunity to insinuate herself onto our TVs and our politics for the rest of her life.
She's the Paris Hilton of the Republican Party.
