Ok people, it's Halloween weekend and the scariest movie in DECADES is opening in honour of that fact. Saw. It opened in the UK at the beginning of October and I went to see it, knowing very little about it. I have never been more terrified at a movie in my entire life. Anyone else going to see it this weekend?

The commercials scare me.

Pop...I haven't seen it playing here yet in little old New Jersey. Then again I should open a paper and look. re: Saw - The Movie

I have heard there's thing called the internet too, Boobs. Apparently they have things like movie times on it and everything re: Saw - The Movie

And jai, if the commercials scare you, the full movie will likely give you a heart attack.

I'm so there this weekend.

Is it gory? Or is it more of a psychological thriller?

Apparently, it's quite gory and sadistic...

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Sadistic, yes. Gory, no. There is not a massive amount of blood and guts in it (and the US release is a trimmed down version for gore anyways) but the power of suggestion is very big in this movie, so you come out thinking you've been watching a movie drenched in gore, and you really haven't.

How is it compared to "28 Days later" ?

in terms of what? I thought 28 Days Later was rubbish, so Saw is a much better, much cleverer movie.

I just got back from seeing it. I thought it was very cleaver and worth checking out. It is more of a pyschological drama than a horror movie with just blood and gore. Great story with twists in the story that keep you thinking right up to the end. Go see it!

I saw the trailer the other day. It def. looked interesting, but am I the only one who didn't feel like it looked that scary based solely on the trailer?

The film is being compared to Se7en and Silence of the Lambs, so I'm sure it will be more psychological. And those are the types of films that really get to me.

That's so much more my type than the bloody massacre flicks. The psycholigical ones scare me and keep me on the edge of my seat. This should be good.

I'm the very same way. It's much scarier to me to have a smart bad guy with a concept that makes you think instead of mindless gore. Damn, I'm still scared.

I think I'm scared.

I want to see it, but I am afraid of scarey movies.
If I go, I'll have to go with a group of friends and then make them all come back to my apartment after...for about a week! I wouldn't want to be alone!
