I don't know what's more horrifying: the moment when she crosses her legs or the dance break at the end.

And what demented parent or singing teacher added the vamp from "New York, New York"?

Really? I mean, it was cute in a kids are cute way, but I didn't see anything resembling any discernible talents in there, unless she's going to make a career skipping.

Gotta agree with Phyll. The kid memorized the movements and the words, but I didn't detect any flare, or special charm. Of course that doesn't mean that she won't have it sometime in the future.

Because her mom and the coach thought it was cute.

I feel like whoever recorded the karaoke track added "New York, New York."

I think the song should forevermore be sung with the New York, New York vamp.

Since Broadway, you know, is IN New York New York.

Sorry, I find this uncute. Child abuse. JonBenet Ramsey must be a distant thought these days. These parents are nuts, imho. Not every kid is some genius potential Bway talent. It'sALL about the parents. Take your home movies and keep them home, not on youtube.

And why do they just abandon the lyrics 2/3 of the way through?

I just know that kid would have brought a special wit to the "Working for a nice man / Like a Ziegfeld or a Weismann" lyric, don't you?

Wouldn't it have blown your mind if suddenly a couple of equally screechy Whitmans and a Solange appeared?

From the video description:

"Just before her performance she said, "I've been waiting my whole life for this moment"."

ICK!!! to the whole thing.

That is just scary! I do not how to raise kids, but I know a little about raising kids, and I think that is a violation.

I don't know what would be better: her "Could I Leave You?" or her "Losing My Mind"

There are far more talented youngsters out there than this little girl. Sorry.

I mean, she's cute and it looks as though she's having fun (or at least trying to). And like Jane said, she may be able to get some training in the future.

If we learn that she has two dads, I might send some money for Prop 8!

I'm just glad that she isn't the result of same-sex parenting.

I would hate to think two gay men would dress their little daughter up as Bernadette Peters and force her to sing Sondheim.

I don't want to say that she has no talent - I heard some decent notes in there. What she lacks is technique and knowing what to shout notes and when to hold them. She could have a decent voice later.

That being said..I hate these sort of competitions.

A lot of things seem to be beyond you. It's okay.
