I hate it too.
I start on Wednesday...I just KNOW that all the adults will miss me posting like a nut. (suuuree, LadyG, you keep thinking that...
)
Anyway, the quicker I get senior year over with, the quicker I'm out of that school and I get to go to college.

Good luck to all you guys starting school or going back this semester! I, too, am in college and have been for waaaay too long!
Maybe one day I'll finally graduate. Probably the same year they revive ALW's "Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway.
lol!
#6re: School...
Posted: 9/6/04 at 7:52pmI start classes tomorow... I'll still be able to get in lots of BWW time since I'm in college, but this is sad!

Listen to us...we're so pathetic...
We're upset because we know we'll suffer withdrawl...from a MESSAGE BOARD.
It's nice to know there are people like me out there...

Posted: 9/6/04 at 7:55pmI actually showed a post on here to a friend today. She wanted to know abotu AIDA, and I was all talked-out, so I linked her to my post here. She said she actually reads this board on occasion, which I found really funny.

I'm still trying to hope that I will be spending lunch in the library...(I love doing that since our lunch is 40 minutes long- too long, I'd rather be updating and posting) but our school is pretty strict about that.
Yeah, I'm a loser. :P But there ARE tons of other things that I need to keep updated, e-mails and a mailing list and all that jazz that I need to manage. I'd rather do that than have to sit in the caf. for that long.

I start school tomorrow, and hopefully I will get into three shows in the coming months. But all of the time that is spent away from there will be devoted to BWW. And eating.

" alright folks...I'm off to school tomorrow...so I won't be able to spend every minute of my life on BWW.com...I'll still be around, just not as often"
Same with me.
I'd like to thank all of you guys for helping to make this summer the best one I've ever had. I got to do 8 shows in 10 weeks, made great new friends (in person and online), and got in plenty of paying work.
This coming school year I will be redoing our school theater with a friend of mine. I also will be directing and starring in our school's spring show (95% sure it will be Jekkyl and Hyde)
I'll miss all the hours, but I will try to stop by as much as possible.

This is so sad. Everyone's leaving for the school year.
I hate it when I try to talk to people about Sondheim and they have no idea what I'm talking about. But of course they know about all of the latest cars/guns/rappers/pornstars/everything not related to theater.

I am very much a minority in my school.
And it depresses me since a lot of students involved in the theater are just the 'divas' who want to be in the spotlight...couldn't really care less about character development, research, etc. They're not serious about it.
But I live, the message boards give me an outlet.

Posted: 9/6/04 at 9:11pmAs the senior who is now in charge of the theater department I know all too well about divas and I have to find a way to keep them in check. It also would be nice if I could get some MALES to audition.

I'm not partial to school theater.
I am a senior, and haven't been cast once. It's highly political. (And yes, I thought that I was horrible until I left the school theater and was able to get roles in many other theaters in the state)
Ugh.
But we have plenty of males. I'll be glad to donate some.

YOU got males. That's great news.
Males in school theater is becoming extremely rare. I guess they think Gay is contagous(sp?)
Some of the greatest STRAIGHT male actors started in School Theater: Ashton Kutcher, Tom Cruise...Wait did I say straight?

Nooo....NJ, and that's all I say.
People will come and hunt me down if they find out that I know for a fact that they have precast this year's show.
