first degree with special circumstance for Laci -- 2nd degree for the baby -- death penalty will be on the table (according to the CA folks in office) -- I did not hear that on radio (death penalty part)

Not to put a damper on anything, as I really hope he fries - but the murder conviction for the unborn child is going to come up again, in ways that might disturb a great many people.

LOS ANGELES -- A California jury has found Scott Peterson guilty of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Laci, and guilty of second-degree murder in the death of their unborn son.

The first-degree murder verdict carries either the death penalty or life in prison without parole.

Peterson was found guilty of killing his pregnant wife, Laci, and dumped her body in San Francisco Bay. Laci Peterson vanished Dec. 24, 2002. The bodies of Laci and the baby were found in April 2003 along the San Francisco Bay.

The double-murder trial began in March.

After a day off for Veterans Day, jurors resumed deliberations Friday. The panel was working without its foreman, who was dismissed Wednesday. The judge did not reveal the reason for the dismissal.

His replacement has a connection to the defendant: The juror's future son-in-law owns a restaurant once owned by Scott and Laci Peterson.

Another juror was removed earlier in the week. She was accused of doing her own research on the case.

Addy, lots of people show no emotion under extreme circumstances. Think of athletes during games- a lot of them are completely undemonstrative until the game is over, even though they report feeling excited/scared/thrilled/happy.

If he did in fact murder Laci, he deserves to be put away. My concern is the fact that he was found guitly also of murdering an "unborn" child....are all professional, legal abortion doctors next? Probably, especially with four more years of Bush to look forward to.
