This is sick - apparently 11 gay bars in Seattle received a threat against their patrons. This guy is threatening to poison people with ricin. There are crazies everywhere.

Making jokes about something like this really isn't funny; sorry to be a stick in the mud.
If it were black people getting threatened, would it be funny to make jokes? Would anyone even attempt a joke?

Congrats, yeah, for not going directly to the Hitler analogy.
Just look more closely at my post. It's contingent on my having misunderstood "Ricin" and has nothing to do with making fun of the situation. Thank you.

This is on all the news here. Last night they were at the Eagle, and interviewed the manager. I had to chuckle. Of course, in response a pub crawl is planned on Friday to all the threatened bars.
In addition to the public safety, they are concerned because bars have seen a drop in business, up to 40%, and if this keeps more people away some of them could close. This jerk needs to be tried for terrorism.

Doesn't this happen every year in Seattle? When I lived there, people were always avoiding this bar or that club because some homophobe was "threatening" to do something.
It never stopped me from partying and I'm still alive.

Some thugs threatened to burn down my grandfather's church when he was a preacher. I distinctly remember him saying, "Let's the mother%&$#ers try to burn us down. Get on in here and worship!" ...and I had to go to church anyway, which sucked but...
It made Gramps seem so bad ass.

Weird. Dan Savage thinks the guy is a bitter gay man who stole the wording of his threat from a poem written in 1995 by National Book Award-winning poet Mark Doty about the death of his lover from AIDS:
