Seeking A New Browser

I'm looking for a new internet browser. I've been using Internet Explorer for many years, and I want something more savvy now.
I want a browser that blocks ads on websites (not just pop-ups), and is fast, and simple to navigate.
I don't like having an animated ANYTHING bouncing across the page or flashing about as I'm trying to read an article.
Thanks for any advice.

I'm all about the Firefox.
IE is crap.

I don't think anyone has suggested it, but Firefox.

I'm going to hop on the bandwagon here, and say Firefox.
I don't know what it is. I use IE. I just wanted to say it.

Like the others', FIREFOX changed my life.
You may have to use some "add-ons", but it's worth it.
Your PC will be eons faster, with much better security, built in.
Use "Deskcut" (to add shortcuts to your desktop).
Use "Add Block Plus".
Check out the different "skins"
Study the "HELP" button, because the "customize tool bars" is SOooooo easy...drag and drop.
It takes about a week to get used to, but you'll never go back..
Good LUck!
