What the what?! This movie is BEYOND hilarious and amazing. We just got out and had to share! I dont know how Christopher Walken could NOT get Oscar attention for this.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED IT!

I also loved it. It's just so funny and unexpected. Walken is fantastic in this. McDonagh really brings out the best in him. Same with Colin Farrell.

It really looks like McDonagh is going to go three for three with Oscar nominations for his film work. I can't imagine the writing branch snubbing this.

Loved it as well. A delightful surprise.

I agree that its a got a good shot for screenplay.

Just for the record, he won an Oscar for his short film Six Shooter.

....but the world goes 'round

I'm happy to see my man Colin (he's my number #2, right after Jake and before Hugh) making a sort of "comeback" in films. I feel like he's been sort of absent for a while.

And for those that saw it, what did you think of the phonecall during the credits? It was 2 minutes that was so much darker than the rest of the film!

From the midway point on (when they choose to make the kind of action film Marty wants to make), I started anticipating what was going to come next. I loved McDonagh's commitment to the story created by a story conceit. That phone call was the only thing that blindsided me. After everything that happens, you forget about that tiny little detail. It was a great stinger on the end of the film.

It was dark, too. I mean, the whole film is dark, but that was darker than dark. That was brutal. It was such a perfect distillation of everything that happened and the whole reason for the film's form.

Yeah it was just a total shock that came out of nowhere - one of the reasons I'll push an old lady into traffic to get to anything of McDonagh's. I think I might go see it again tomorrow.

Oh and ******SPOILER********

They don't like to be called fags anymore. They prefer "Homo". :)
