Now that I've got your attention...... I'm going to NYC next week with my parents and we are seeing Drowsy, Sweeney, Jersey Boys, Tarzan, Doubt, Maria Friedman @ Cafe Carlyle, and I Love You Because. Can anyone reccomend great restaurants near those shows? Also, while I'm at it, I might as well ask: can anyone suggest any great clothing stores ("men's urbanwear" i guess...)in the city? Thanks very much! :)

If you're in the mood for really good fast food, there's a place called Chicken Bar on the corner of 45th and 8th, across from The wedding Singer.

I don't think fast food is what I'm aiming for but you get an A for effort, yankeefan.

I am reluctant to answer this due to the idiotic subject line that you used to draw attention to your thread as if it's any more important than all the other discussion going on here.

That being said...try clicking the restaurant guide link on the left hand bar of the page. It's there for a reason.

When a man and a woman love each other very much, and they want to celebrate their love, they decide to give each a very special hug.

Arghh! Grammar pet peeve #1: your vs you're. "Your" is a possessive pronoun. "You're" is the contraction of "you are." <<

Down by ILYB is a great Thai place called DragonFly on Bleecker and 7th Ave. It's a few blocks west of the Village Theatre. Great food.

There is this Japanese restaurant on 45th between 8th and 9th ave, that is the best Japanese food in town! also I'd add "The Wedding Singer" to your list. The restaurant is next to the theatre where they play this show.

On the same street where the Gershwin is, I think 51st or 50th, if you walk past the theatre towards 8th ave, there's this AMAZING italian restaurant. I can't remember the name, but it is soooooooo good. Too good for the area which is mostly just tourist traps.

Joe Allen's. Not too expensive and great food. Broadway peeps can be found many times, too.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
