Thanks to TBS I have now seen probably around 15 episodes and I must ask, does it really happen like that in the city? Do people really date that many people and get asked out all the time?
It just blows my mind how different it is. Is it enhanced for viewers or is that really the single life of the city?

It depends if you're fabulous and gorgeous or not... lol

Posted: 8/19/04 at 12:49amI HATE the TBS ones... how lame. They couldn't say "shi*y" but they could say "goldieco*ks"... some of the choices they make in editing really baffle me. But at least we still got to see Mr. Too Big's ass... that was nice...

Posted: 8/19/04 at 12:49amYes, I would like to know too! I have been living vicariously through this women (with the rest of America) for years now. New Yorkers: amuse me! (CJR, could you elaborate on your wink...I really want to know)

Posted: 8/19/04 at 1:28amYes, for some of us, life in the city is very much like that and I am happy it is.
re: Sex and the City#6
Posted: 8/19/04 at 1:52amIt means just what I said and then some.. and ditto to Nina's comment.

Sorry ballerina, I don't kiss and tell or, for that matter, do anything else and tell.
re: Sex and the City#9
Posted: 8/19/04 at 8:46amyes, it's like that. For some of us. (And frankly, as one of those people, sometimes I REALLY wish it weren't.)

Well, this just fascinates me. I still dont see it being like that when I move to the city, though. I wouldnt me comfortable just going out with a guy I talked to for like 5 mins... I like to get to know people. Of course, I think things would end when they were like "Want to get a drink sometime?" And I respond, "Actually, I dont drink." ::dead silence::
Its still entertaining to watch. Perhaps because it is soo far off from me!
re: Sex and the City#11

I think NYC life COULD be like Carrie's if someone wanted it to be and of course they looked like her...
There are that many clubs and bars and places to go to meet people and so if women want to date a bunch of people, the option's always alive.
:)
and there are that many shoe stores for the Carrie in every woman. haha
re: Sex and the City#16
Posted: 8/19/04 at 8:22pmThe show is repeated on Tuesday and Wednesday. I hate when I miss the show also. Life if like that with gals today. It is always great that they always keep their sense of humor. I love Big. Always have.
re: Sex and the City#17
Posted: 8/19/04 at 9:48pmReally? Is life for single women really like that in New York? I'm a big fan of the show, but I always thought it was a glorified version (like QAF is for gay life, only SatC is much better). Can a newspaper columnist really afford living in a brownstone and enjoy the affluent lifestyle that Carrie has?

Posted: 8/19/04 at 10:29pmNina, you are so Samantha, through and through.

Posted: 8/20/04 at 12:02amLove, love sex and the city. Actually on my way to the TV to watch it. Rented the last season off of Netflix...
re: Sex and the City#20
Posted: 8/20/04 at 12:33amI love Sex and the City because it has a character named Miranda! That's my name! I have no idea why I am using so many exclamation points!
re: Sex and the City#21
Posted: 8/20/04 at 9:43amCarrie's brownstone (for which she pays $750 a month) is rent-controlled. Yes, she could afford it. *I* could afford it. :)

Posted: 8/20/04 at 8:42pmI'm really mad because now they don't play it on HBO anymore because they play it on TBS, and I hate edited for TV shows!
