Does anyone here love the movie??? I watched it two times yesterday. Love me some J-Hud.
I enjoyed it although I definitely think they took Smith and Steve out of character to get some more drama for the plot.

I think the movie tried too hard to amplify the things people loved about the show (the fashion, the personalities of the characters, etc.). It ended up being a little too over-the-top and felt like an extra long episode rather than a full-length film. Some of the situations were just ridiculous and some of the plotlines were unneeded and dragged on.
That being said, it was nice to FINALLY have the girls back. I missed them and their antics and their drama and I was happy to just see their lives again. That's really all I liked about the movie: the fact that we had a new episode of "Sex and the City" to watch. Except it was supposed to be a movie. So it kind of disappointed.
I like both. I most recently got seasons 1-5 from the library as I had never seen them during its original airing. I absolutely love it as it reminds me so much of my time living in NYC.
Dottie- You slept with tons of guys and went out to fancy dinners and lunches every day?
Um, yes and no!!! LOL
And don't forget the fabulous outfits!
Best part of the movie was Gilles Marini. There, I said it.
Loved the novie for the same reason colorthehours stated: it was great to see the girls all together again. They could have cartwheeled and farted for 90 minutes and I would still like it. Although I hated the "Louise from St. Louis" character and I thought Hudson's acting was atrocious. Watch her open her Christmas present from Carrie-she's terrible. I thought the writers did a good job trying to hit all the right notes. I had a great time (aside from Hudson).
I love Jennifer Hudson anyways. So talented it is insane.

That's about what the movie amounted to. And don't think they aren't banking on exactly that kind of no-expectations attitude from their audience.
They are beginning to shoot the sequel in two weeks.
