Something I take for granted? My house's observation deck. You can go up on the roof - the view is beautiful. When it's clear, you can see mountains in Maine far, far across the harbor. I live on Cape Ann, by the way, in case any of you want to stalk visit me.

Being a pretty new NYC resident, I can't think of anything I take for granted just yet. But, after being here last winter, I learned that I had definitely taken the weather in my last two homes (San Diego and the SF Bay Area) for granted. And having a car...and Target...god I miss Target.
EDIT:
Ah DAME you reminded me of something else I took for granted! When it turns that time of day in California, the quality of the...uh...clocks they have there is something rarely equalled on the East Coast. Don't get me wrong though, I looooove NY and 4:20 is still a fine time. Judge Judy is on.

Posted: 10/5/04 at 3:59pmBeing a native New Yorker, I am grateful for the many things my city has to offer. Broadway being one of them. However I take it for granted that shows will be around for a while and sometimes I miss them.

Posted: 10/5/04 at 4:04pmOne thing I loved about where I lived growing up was it was a small town bordering on the country on one side and Indianapolis on the other. I had the best of both worlds. I could go out to my grandpa's farm or I could go into Indy and be downtown in less than half an hour. (And that is driving on the city streets too!)

I sometimes take for granted the small town life that I have. Driving down the road I realize that I know half the people that I see.
Not geographic- but I am grateful that I attend a small school, where individualized attention is given (not to mention the fact that I am in charge of the theater)

I live in New Jersey, and I am grateful that I live in a mile radius of at least 3 shopping malls. God Bless America.
(Hey, we don't have much here!!)
Also living near the awesome State Theater and GSP- always a plus.

Posted: 10/5/04 at 7:28pmI used to live in the SF/Bay Area and I took for granted all the nice weather and how close I was to SF with everything in it. Now that i'm in SoCal I think i'll be taking the beaches, Disney Land and the warm weather for granted (plus all the wonderful connections I hope to be making here hehe) =)
