Cool, she's hilarious when she comes on Ellen.
Was she on the TV show with Sara Rue? If so -- she was ADORABLE.

Did you see this addendum?
UPDATE: Sorry to disappoint, folks, but a source close to the show tells PopWatch that the rumors calling Shepherd's signing a done deal are "complete hogwash," and that we'll be seeing a number of subs in the Star Jones seat before a final decision is made. Still, they should totally hire her, right?
I was hoping it was true...I really like her! Well, maybe it'll still happen.
Yes I did. But my source for this info is better and more reliable than Entertainment Weekly. But this is the only source I can post a link for. Hence the question mark at the end of the thread title.

Sherri Sheperd, Gayle King and Carnie Wilson were the only ones I enjoyed. Everyone else has sucked. I'd be thrilled if it were Sherri! She's a great fit and plays off all of the yentas very well.

Cool! I wasn't sure whether that "UPDATE" had been posted before or after you'd read the inital blog entry.
Awesome news, then!
I think they have also added these links to the original above link.. But here they are anyway..
even more

Great!
Is it wrong that my eyes keep wandering to the JUSTUS BOYZ ad?
Personally, I think she is fantastic on 'The View' - and have loved her since her 'Raymond' days.
I was hoping she would be the permanant host - but will Barbara want 3 comics on the panel?

YAAAY! I love her on The View!
I love Sherri on THE VIEW. I loved her and Monquie {spelling?} Coleman. They fit very well and I liked them.
"Was she on the TV show with Sara Rue?"
Loved her as Ramona on LESS THAN PERFECT.
Yes, she starred with Sara Rue on LESS THAN PERFECT
I was hoping for Mo'Nique. I missed Carnie Wilson, I love her. she'd be a good replacement. I like Sherri sometimes but there's something about her that rubs me the wrong way. It'd be rather uncomfortable for Barbara and Elizabeth to have 3 big mouths on the panel. Fun to watch, but would get irritating real quick.
Too bad I can't watch - I love her!
That show with Sara Rue was fantastic, until it jumped the shark way too early, and then died.
She rubs me the wrong way.
I like Mo'Nique and Monique Coleman. I'd love it if they got Whoopi, but I doubt that would happen.

Sherri was on Popular?
BroomstickBoy--I loved Mo'Nique in The Queens of Comedy. She was raunchy and hilarious. But she rubbed me the wrong way on The View. I thought she was obnoxious.
Rath...get TiVo!
Whoopi's busy hosting Showtime at the Apollo.
No, really.
No, REALLY.

OK, ignore my first sentence above. I didn't see the post naming the Sara Rue show. The only one I was familar with is Popular.

I'm liking Sherri Shepard on The View, too. She's holding her own just fine, and even managing to make that ninny Elizabeth laugh...and Elizabeth doesn't even look horrified that she, herself, is actually laughing. She used to.
But anyway. I liked Mo'Nique too, but sometime in the summer, long before Clay put his hand over Kelly Ripa's mouth, Mo'Nique nearly did something similar to Barbara when Barbara interrupted Mo'Nique when she wasn't finished saying her piece on whatever topic it was. Barbara had SUCH a look, and tried to be funny but said, "yeah, it may be The View but while YOU will go, WE will stay!" Ha. Ha. I thought that was nervy, even for the usually tactful Barbara. She didn't dig Mo'Nique, she was too much of a loudmouth for her, even though Mo'Nique is a smart, funny lady.
Anyway, Sherri Shepard seems to be able to tow the line of being a smart-ass comic while being soft and girly-girly enough with them to not be offensive to them.
And while I like her about 1000% more than Star Jones, isn't it weird how much they do look alike on camera?
