Why is that the problem with America? I don't drink Kool Aid. There are some issues where I side with Dems and some where I side with the GOP, according to my own values in life.It's called an independent. How are independents the problem with America?

Elizabeth's unvarnished vitriol toward Obama today (Thursday) was startling. Althought the climae on the show was less heated -- the rise in temperature relegated to a single segment -- Elizabeth's Palin-esque indictment of everything about Obama was as vicious as I've ever heard. She -- like countless others -- now has convinced herself that Obama is some sort of evil poseur, who will turn America into a left wing socialist state. This is a kind of self-induced mind control, because we're only getting hope, positives, and ideas out of this man.

If Obama is 'right' to the Elizabeths of this culture, then everything they believe in is suddenly suspect. So instead of focusing on the substance of Obama's vision, the specificity of his program plans, they embrace a one-dimensional caricature of a scary far left nightmare out of the McCarthy era. Even though nothing in his message or promises or proven track record support it.

What I saw from Elizabeth was a need to finally turn 100% against Obama, with the same self-righteous zeal and borderline -- let's say it -- hatred -- that Palin employs to whip up her rallies. It's the only way to view a victor who thinks differently than she but might otherwise truly improve her life.

its sean hannity is what it is. my in-laws, republicans themselves, feel the same way... they listen to people like hannity all day... obama is the man that will somehow turn america into a communist country. he's evil, he's dangerous, etc... there's a psychological term for it, my wife who's a doctor explained it to me last night, but i forget the exact name... basically, she knows that what shes saying is bull****, but she cant come to terms with it... so in her head she goes to the other extreme and convinces herself that he's this evil dictator, to help justify everything to herself.

its actually quite sad
