Well about a half hour ago I got a prank call. I thought it was one of my best friends so I was like laughing until I realized that it wasn't. Then I heard a girl who I really don't like(this is because last year she was my best friend and decided she hated me because I liked Broadway..hmm) laughing hysterically in the background. The girl on the phone was saying things like: "You know your an ugly bitch? You are hairy. You have lots of facial hair. Your a bitch. No one likes you."
And I was just going along because I knew they wanted me to get mad. So then they started saying:"Are you a dreamer?(that was sort of my 'thing' last year with one of my other friends, they didn't hate her for it though). Do you loooove broadway? Do you want to be on Broadway?"
And at that point I just hung up because I didn't want to give them the satisfaction of seeing me mad.
I hate people sometimes.
Aww, I'm sorry! You were right to not give in to them and hang up. People like that are terrible.
Sweetheart, it's funny and sad that these people even had the energy to make that phone call. They'll like Broadway too someday.
And you can take some satisfaction that they are lame enough on their own that YOU have the power to give them their kicks, in a twisted way. You're important enough to them for them to try to mock and piss off. Anyone with an independent mind--and the confidence to have dreams--is a threat to the mediocre and the small minded.
Stay strong, sistah
Woah, how old is this girl? She sounds petty and babyish, at any age.
Hehe thanks guys! That is true, and that's what I was thinking. These girls are supposedly the 'cool' ones.. then why are they home on a Saturday night calling me? Thank God I don't go to school with them anymore.
She's 14, and so am I.
Hate to say it, but you probably should not have hung up. That would have been expected.
You should have played the song "My Girlfriend Who Lives in Canada" from AVENUE Q. THAT would have shut them up!
Or better yet, "You Can Be As Loud As The Hell You Want"

LOL!!! That's a great suggestion Capn.
Having once been 14, I can promise you that things will get better. Hang in there.
I'm sorry. That sucks. I'm 13 and stuff like that used to happen to my sister (but it wasn't Broadway-it was emo). The people who did that get over it and so will they.
She's 14, and so am I.
Believe me, when the two of you are 19 she will look like the idiot for having nothing better to do than harass people over the phone, while you will be the cool one for actually having a passion for something.

Classic middle school hijinks. People are such vicious idiots at that age. There's a reason I went to another district for high school.
Seriously, don't worry about things like that. You'll look back on it in a few years and see it for the meaningless crap it is.
Yeah. I went to a new district for high school too because, sadly, nearly everyone in my town is like her. I just didn't fit in with them because they all hated me for no reason. Luckily everyone at my new school is a lot nicer.
And you are all so right and made me feel a lot better. Thank you so much :o)
Honestly, this too shall pass.
At my high school ten year reunion, we took GREAT pleasure in how completely mundane the "cool" girls were now....and how their husbands had gotten FAT! I know that's terribly shallow and childish, but it's nice to feel some vindication for bullying down the road. (Think Romy and Michelle!)
hah! so my 14 year old girl voice works!! it wooooooorrrrkkkkkssssss!!!!
i under stand i go throu that stuff evry day im sorry that happend people think when your a guy and you rather be on stage insted of on a feald your "gay" and "stupid"
if you want PM me there # il call them up and talk to them lol that would be soo funny
i would think that girls are more exsepting of bway then boys are
Why hasn't anyone alerted me to this thread? Revenge is my specialty. Want some help?
Liam-it gets better...trust me.
Sure, for 7 years people have called me gay and stupid, and they still do, but it gets better. Just learn to live with it, and if you get really annoyed you can always flirt with them(that shuts them up)

I think everyone has experienced a bully or someone teasing them. Its ok. Youll get through it. Just keep your head and dont let it get to you too much.
You're a true Broadway martyr.

the best way to deal with a bully is to get about twelve of your nerd buddies together and beat the hell out of the bully.
Sorry this happened to you, kid. Believe me, you'll find "your people" after high school and you'll be so glad you did!

Actually, Rodney, in my limited experience, one punch in the stomach is enough. Bullies are usually big fat cowards, too.

Another good way to to smack them hard right accross the face. It's doesn't hurt them, but it does humiliate them.
