Can anyone recommend a good alternative to silver sharpies and where to purchase such items? Silver sharpies are so unreliable. Thanks.

Silver sharpies and gold sharpies work fine for me. You may want to look for retractable sharpies if the air dries them out. I recommend holding then point down and not removing the cap until the signer is just in front of you.

Pilot Silver Markers are great. But they can take a minute to dry on Playbills.

There are some white paint pens out there as well. You must shake them (there is a small ball inside like a spray paint can) They can be gotten at art supply stores.
