I don't sing very well. I can sing but it isn't really pleasant to hear well at least I think so. If anyone who takes voice lessons or jsut knows good ways to start learning to sing a little better post your ideas. I just need good techniques to get started like things to do to prepare before singing or something. I promised my friend to sing in front of her but I want to sound better than I actually do. So if anyone has things for me to try or things that are necessary for me to sing nicely or something. Thanks for your help.

*has this problem* BREATHE! Always to remember to breathe! lol, seriously, it helps. That, and singing something you're comfortable with. If you've ever seen My Fair Lady, do the excersises Eliza does...except sing them! Good luck!

Thenardier - you agree on my problem? wait what do you agree on. Any more help is nice!
hmmmm...
Would you rate yourself as American Idol reject bad or just average church go-er bad?
have people ever:
-Told you you have a good voice
-run from the room with their ears covered as you sang
- bled from the ears when you reached a high note??
I jest, of course..but my point is is that alot of times most of it is in your head...sometimes you can tell if you need help, but also keep in mind that voice lessons won't magically make you an awsome singer. it builds on what you have, so you need to at least have SOME form of talent to make the money you spend worth it.
you can search google and stuff for some good singing technique websites--I can't think of any off hand, but I know there are some good ones out there, and if money is an issue, it's a good place to start
**if you want, I could send you my vocal exercises that I do, jsut PM me!

I have been told I was good but thats because i was on the phone with my one friend who said it and she is worse than me. I am not really really bad its not like people would run. People wouldn't enjoy it much though. I am not looking for a job in singing i would just like to be confident of my voice a little more and also sound a little better. I tried google and nothing amazing. If you know a site post away. More help welcome!
If you browse around the site where the link is, you'll find some pretty good stuff. If you can, get a recording of yourself up here, so we can listen to you. I'm not really in a place to judge, myself only starting as well, but I don't know what I'm basing my assumptions off of.

the recording system i have on my computer is terrible it makes me sound worse than i am! I wouldnt want to have much people hear it. I tried today recording it and it sounded weird. Also i cant sing very loud and if i do its really bad. You cant hear me well on the recording but if i do make a good one i will send it to a few people.

I don't like people with natural talent, lol. It isn't fair to the rest of us who work our asses off trying to sound plesant.

My friend has natural talent! I wish i had her voice so much!
Yup, so does my friend. She recently landed two leads in the musicals drama and music are putting on. It's not fair...I am the Magic Mirror. lol. Hurray for me. But anyway- when you are on Broadway, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you worked your ass off to get there. =P
Just get in lessons, if possible, and that's all you can do. I'm a dancer, and HATE the singing part of auditions, because I'm not very good. But taking lessons, I think, has helped me to improve and make me feel WAY more confident!
