I hope this stuff is sold forever. Tried it last week after seeing the ads flooding downtown Chicago and it is HEAVENLY. On the rocks with a splash of Kahlua and Half & Half. Good Lord, I'm going to have to buy it by the case. Anyone else try it?

Posted: 4/10/12 at 7:45pmI was so close to getting it but decided on Pinnacle Swedish Fish flavored vodka instead, which was pretty awesome too. Between marshmallow, cotton candy, and Swedish fish it was quite a tossup. The cookie dough flavor however, was very easy to pass up.

Posted: 4/11/12 at 8:21amI've only ever been able to do all those flavors as a shot. I've tried in actual drinks and ick, but as shots they taste good. However, they are like a billion calories a shot so not often.....

Posted: 4/11/12 at 5:51pmIt was an impulse buy I made on my way to a going away party so I didn't have a master plan for it at the time, though I wish I had. I just used it for shots and chased it with pineapple juice.

There is something depressing about symbols of childhood innocence like marshmallow, cotton candy and Swedish fish being associated with alcohol.

Posted: 4/12/12 at 10:03amI never associated those foods with "childhood innocence". I've always seen adults eat them as well. When Gerber comes out with a line of strained martinis, that would be another thing.

Yes, adults eat these foods, and jelly beans and lollipops as well.
Yet, to me at least, these foods are all associated with childhood innocence.

The Pinnacle Whipped Cream with orange soda..YES!!!It's like drinking a creamsicle! Love it.
Spiked with hot chocolate sounds brilliant, Blue :)

I tried Three Olives' birthday cake vodka about a month ago and it was delicious. Had it with orange soda, but definitely would have preferred cream soda or root beer. Or even Coke. I don't think I could drink it often (as I'm not a big fan of alcohol and it was very sweet), but it's definitely worth buying.
I'm the exact opposite of Kad. The less I can taste the alcohol, the better. It just doesn't agree with my tastebuds. Never has. But if it's fruity or sweet, I'm in. In general, though, I'm a beer guy.

Okay so I bought a bottle tonight. We haven't tried it yet. Also bought a bottle of Godiva chocolate liqueur. (Two different liquor stores because the first one didn't have the Smirnoff Fluffed Marshmallow). I put them both in the refrigerator to chill. My thinking is to mix the Smirnoff with the Godiva. Not sure what ratio though. Maybe 2 parts Fluffed Marshmallow to 1 part chocolate liqueur?? Or would just a splash of the liqueur be better? What do y'all think? I really am about as dumb as I sound about this stuff. But anyway, the marshmallow / chocolate flavor combo sounds good to me.
Mister Matt's "On the rocks with a splash of Kahlua and Half & Half" doesn't sound bad either (don't have either on hand though).
ETA: So here's how we tried it out - I just made this up:
double shot Smirnoff Fluffed Marshmallow
about 1/4 shot, eyeballing it, Godiva chocolate liqueur
Poured in some old juice sized Bama jelly glasses (mine's got Velma and Scooby on it) because we're classy like that. lol
Shaken, not stirred.
But before the above, we had a little of the Smirnoff - 1/4 to 1/2 shot maybe - to see how it tastes by itself. I like it. Nice caramel undertone.
Haven't finished my cocktail yet, still working on it. I've been very slowly sipping it for the past 1/2 hour or so. Alcohol gives me a buzz pretty fast. lol Plus I like to savor it.
Thanks, Mister Matt, for this thread, or I might not have known about it.

Posted: 4/17/12 at 9:32amYAY! Instead of Kahlua, you can just use a splash of the Godiva and it's basically the same thing. I just can't have chocolate.

I don't like the taste of alcohol, so the less something tastes like alcohol, the better.
That's how I fell in love with Midori...

Have you tried Chambord?
That masks the taste of alcohol even better than Midori.

I use Chambord for a summer dessert called "Boozenberries" (and/or "Booze 'n' Berries", depending on your style). Raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries left to soak in Chambord overnight, and then served over vanilla ice cream. Super easy contribution to 4th of July festivities, and oh-so-delicious.
But I've never drank it aside from that...
With Midori, I mix it with cranberry juice. A bartender once called it a Jolly Rancher. It's my signature drink.
I also had an excellent drink once that was an alcoholic version of a Shirley Temple. The bartender called it a "Drew Barrymore", which I thought was hilarious (and only got funnier after I'd had three of them...).

Thanks for the Chambord berry recipe. Sounds delicious. I've tried a little Chambord alone over vanilla ice cream. Nice.
Chambord can also be used in champagne as an alternative to kir. Very elegant.
I love the bottle, too.
