I have in my neighborhood a pure white albino squirrel with pink eyes. ( Snowball ) He comes when you call him, I have been feeding him for about a year, the entire neighbor-
hood loves this little guy .... he gathers 2 peanuts at a time ! I will post a picture
later .... all the gray and black squirrels chase him away when he shows up while they
are eating. Has anyone else ever seen a albino squirrel ?

Posted: 2/20/09 at 2:37pmI read this and wondered what "snowballing your albino squirrel" was a euphamism for.
"In Oz, the verb is douchifizzation." PRS

I went to the University of North Texas in Denton, TX and they are famous for their Albino Squirrels!
I saw one once or twice and I took a picture of it for on my cell phone!
They say that if you have a test in a class to go and find the albino squirrel for good luck!

We had one in the neighborhood but I realize now that I haven't seen him in almost a year, so I guess we know what that means.
I used to see him in the early evening, after the sun had gone down but while it was still light enough to see easily. At that hour the other squirrels were gone and it was safe for him to come out and look around for food. I used to take a long walk before dinner and I would always fill my pockets with walnuts for him. (Almost all the squirrels around here are so used to people that they will approach anyone for a handout.)
We also would see one or two coal black squirrels. I wonder what they would look like next to the albino? I never saw the albino with any other squirrels around so I don't really know.

"Has anyone else ever seen a albino squirrel ?"
Yes, but in our neighborhood, we just call him George W.
And that's 'cuz he doesn't come when we call him...just like his namesake.

Posted: 2/22/09 at 1:02pmWhen I was little, an albino squirrel with almost no hair at all on his tail lived in my grandma's backyard. He almost looked like a rat. We called him Skinnytail (yeah, creative name, right?) and he was like a pet. But my granddad hated squirrels, and one day Skinnytail disappeared-- turned out he'd wandered into one of my granddad's new squirrel traps.
