Honestly, good for the producers. You are an actress , you are hired to play a role. No one cares about your beliefs. You do your job. You don't want to? You want to change your job description or change a story arc because of your beliefs? That is fine, it is your right. You also have the right to find another job when you are fired.

This is like when Deanna Wright, who played Kay on Passions, left because she didn't like how her character was doing devilish things. Heidi Muller, Wright's replacement, was like "chill out. It's just a role."

I haven't seen OLTL in a long time. Last time I checked, Starr was pregnant and what's-her-name's husband died in the hospital. I think her name was Jess/Tess. Am I correct?

Yep. That's when I stopped watching, too. I was always a sporadic watcher when something interesting happened. Tess took over after Jess's hubby died. Her baby was also stillborn, but she switched it with Starr's baby. Now it's all worked out. The chubby chick was gonna adopt Starr's baby, but Starr changed her mind because teens raising babies is always a good idea. The good news is the child will be 13 next week.

Thanks for that update! Are you serious? Hahaha. Wow, this is sounding more like Passions, which was the only soap I watched religiously. Once in a blue moon, I tune in to AMC, OLTL, and GH when nothing else is on.

So, if the baby is going to be 13, how old will Starr be? How is this even possible?

Maybe the actress wanted to leave the soap. Sounds like her character was put through some dreary paces, not that I ever saw the show. Maybe this was her unconscious or whatever way of leaving, although it did attract publicity.

Gotta wonder who leaks this stuff to the press. The fight on Grey's Anatomy that led to someone's firing, etc. This stuff happens on closed sets and situations. Gotta figure that this stuff is leaked by people who don't like these actors, or by the actors themselves to get attention.

I was kidding about the 13 thing. SORAS, or Soap Opera Rapidly Aging Syndrome is a serious issue and effects about 99% of soap opera children. Sami and Eric on Days were around 5 when I was a freshman in high school. Sami now has a son in his late teens. She should be around 23 now.

Oh, okay. I agree with the whole SORAS thing. I haven't a full episode of GH in about two years, then last week I tuned in and Michael Corinthos, Christina (Alexis's daughter), and Lulu are all teens. I was like WTF?

This other source says the actress doesn't "personally have a problem with homosexuality" -- she just thinks her character would.

That article is "Damage Control". Like press releases saying so and so is leaving the show due to family concerns or artistic differences. What it means is they got their ass fired.

"I'm not a Homophobe, but I think my character should be!"

Oh no, SF, I think he left years ago. He was still on when I stopped watching (he was a victim of serial killer Marlena but turned out to be alive like all the others).

I saw him as Jefferson in a Houston production of 1776 in the late 90s or so.

I remember when he was on OLTL. I never knew him really because he was a senior when I was in 7th or 8th grade, but the theatre teacher was the same (our school was 7-12) and the HS kids would come help with the middle school try-outs.

Dixie Carter was not the liberal that Julia Sugarbaker was and often bartered with Linda Bloodworth-Thomason that for certain liberal tirades Bloodworth would have to create opportunities for her to be able to sing on the show.

She still did her job.
