Ok! Very obvious! But I assume that "The Impossible Dream" was one of your first choices!
Some old chestnuts:
"Climb Every Mountain" - The Sound of Music
"You'll Never Walk Alone" - Carousel
Actually - having played the role of Don Quixote many times over - yes, The Impossible Dream is definitely going to be in my show. Thanks for reminding me, though!
as many times as you've been Don Quixote, i'm SURPRISED you forgot "Impossible Dream"... LOL!!!
Don't worry - I didn't really forget - I was just being polite. I'm sooooo appreciative of all the great suggestions - Keem 'em coming, people!
Found something great to work on last night (actually given to me by joeyjoe)...it feels so good to be working on a music project again!

While it's nice to know that you are versatile, I'm not sure how it relates to this thread!
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a handsome and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOW--WHAT A RIDE!!!!""
that is an amazing quote!...
I know in context it's quite the opposite of inspiring, but I think out of context "A New Life" from Jekyll and Hyde is beautiful and inspiring. As is the Finale of Les Mis, but that's not very cabaret-y. It just has the notable mention of "Tomorrow Comes." OH "Tomorrow" from Annie-your audience would LOVVVVe that! (haha)
ok lets get this back out there for a bit....
"I'll Begin Again" from Scrooge the Musical
...now THAT'S one I hadn't thought about - another 'must listen'..thanks
so, have you gotten any other ideas lately?
well of course I am thinking a lot about 'A Hundred Million Miracles"...ever since seeing it last weekend, I have not gotten it out of my head...
these are probably obvious but...
suddenly seymour from little shop is about someone being there for you, and not being alone,
happiness from you're a good man charlie brown,
you must love me from evita,
if i didnt believe in you from the last five years is great, you'd have to listen to it to decide if you feel that it fits your criteria or not, i think it may
well, i dont know how they'd do in a caberet setting, but they may work. either way, break a leg!
Listen To My Heart- David Friedman
We Can Be Kind- David Friedman
I love all the new suggestions, folks - thanks! and keep 'em coming!
finally had a chance to listen to Man of No Importance last night and liked a couple of those songs - any other suggestions out there? Keep 'em comin', folks!
I'll have to check what show it's from and the title but there is a song called (I think) Life Has Been Good. Leah Delaria did a jazz version of it on her last cd. It's so much inspirational as justa fun song about someone who is satisfied with what they have in life.
That is interesting - please let me know if you find out more about it...Thanks!
I know, I'm so helpful. I know a songf from a show, it's about something and Leah Delaria sang it one one of her cds.
It's like when I give directions....go past that house that I hate the color of, turn after one...maybe two sets of lights....could be three
well...I'm sure you MEAN well...LOL...and no problem - if and when you find out - just lemme know and I'll be glad to check it out!
Ok. The song is "Life Has Been Good To Me" from Faust.
redhot, that's by Randy Newman... i do believe i have it in my collection...
Great, joey - I'll give it a listen this weekend!
