Not a showtune, but I adore the song Angels Among Us by the group Alabama. My godmother and I are very close, and we sing in our church choir together... this is a favorite song of hers, so for her 50th birthday a few years ago, I learned the song and sang it solo in chuch on her birthday.
There wasn't a dry eye in the house and I was asked to peform it again, several times after that.
