Terrible pity.

I'm sure Dixie Carter would have been momentarily bothered by such a story. Not bothered enough, mind you, to stop her support of candidates who would keep such injustices in place.

On the other hand ...Julia Sugarbaker (the fictional character created and written by Linda Bloodworth Thomason) might actually have taken some action.

I keep dialing.. but I just keep getting a message for the international Dolores Gray fan club.

Curious, the voice on the message sounds like a bitter old show queen... you know the type.. they have little fay dogs they treat like the children they never had and spend all day and night on broadway message boards telling other people to "get a life."

This is a story I am going to hold on to. When arguing marriage equality, I always pass on, "Well... if a person gets sick," stories. This is worse than anything I could come up with.

Sad to say, this story will never see the light of day in "the liberal media". We are to focused on Larry King's divorce,Tiger Woods, and Charlie Sheen so stories like this will be ignored by the mainstream.

No gay rights group stepped in? Why wasn't anyone watching out for these 2 and protecting their rights? The State/county sure as hell was not. Where was the ACLU? GLAAD? Why wasn't the Advocate reporting about this as it happened? The story getting some exposure early on could have done some good. Now,looking back it just makes a sad story with a sad ending.SO MUCH could have been done if this was reported earlier. Stories like this in the gay community are to common. So, as disgusting as it is I have to call out some of these gay groups who claim to protect people like this.

I'm not saying gay rights groups knew anything but how come all this detailed information has surfaced now? Where is the story coming from? Family? Hospital workers? Who? All of this did not happen in one day. It occurred over a period of time and someone had to get wind of this.Did the couple have a lawyer? Who was looking out for them? Friends? Neighbors? Come on, I can not believe someone is only just now figuring all of this out. There has to be a lot more to this story and we are only hearing the parts that make for a sad story. I want more details. I want names. I want to know who has provided all the information to this story so far.

Well,I'm going by what every one else is going by and I am angry and I am directing this at those responsible(isn't that obvious?)Sonoma County is not enough. Doctors at the hospital,lawyers,guardians for the couple, not just one person knew about this. I am curious who they interviewed for this story. Not to worry, another post on a forum has already sent emails to Kate Kendall who wrote the story asking for answers to the questions you asked. Soon as I find out I WILL post them here.Whats sad is I am sure similar things are happening all over in other states.

Goodness, romantico, I didn't blame Obama for this particular horror, this crime against human decency.

On the other hand, our dear Fierce Advocate isn't exactly doing anything to make sure that these horrors don't happen again, by like, you know, keeping that promise about repealing DOMA (he's so busy! we have to wait! baby steps!) , or actually endorsing the concept of marriage equality.

It is actions like this that make the idea of baby steps particularly repugnant. So many baby steps forward, one great ugly stride backward, and lives are being destroyed while we wait for those in power to keep their promises.
