I'm just saying test audiences usually do more harm than good these days.
According to who? The goal of movie making is not only to make art, but to make money. A masterpiece that people don't see will do no one any good.
Test audiences most likely help and hurt films - you cannot prove objectively that on the whole, they do more harm than good.
Movie making as much as an art, is a business.

Sorry, I forgot DG that being a lawyer has nothing to do with real life...

An encouraging interview.

I was just gonna post that.
And there was never a cut of ET that ended with him dying.

Not to mention - the ending of LSOH wasn't reshot (and I'm 90 percent sure of this) because of test screenings.

According to Frank Oz, it was.
This is like the movie that never opens.
So it's now on the schedule for fall of this year and I finally found some interesting images of the wild things.
I honestly don't know what to expect anymore, but I like these pics:

I love the trailer!
Looks great!

Yes. I remember it vividly, as I was (and still am) a HUGE fan of the musical.
I was very upset that the audiences wanted a happy ending. I kept saying, "It's a Greek TRAGEDY!!!".
The original footage of the original ending can be found on Youtube. As a matter of fact, at exactly 2:00 in, when Seymour asks if she's alright, is where the cut took place.
Also, Alan Menken's web site used to have it on there. Now it 'can be requested', what ever that means.
Oringinal Ending
I know both Marty Robinson and Ellen Green were upset at the ending change. LSOH is a classic morality play. The new ending (which was changed because test audiences wanted a happy ending) now teaches that you can lie, kill and even cold heartedly murder to get what you want and as long as you say your sorry you will get it. Some morality play!

It's pretty ridiculous - basically, it destroys the whole point of the show. It's like taking the whole second act out of Sunday in the Park with George or Into the Woods.
At least the REAL ending exists in some form, even if it's in black and white work prints.
The original ending was released on the first dvds to be produced.
When Katzenberg found out he had the entire lot recalled after 5 days.
I love the trailer for Wild Things! I am so excited for this. I need to not get my expectations too high so I'm not disappointed.
Anyone know what song is playing in the trailer?
I see they avoided using dialogue in the trailer. It looks too much like "Ordinary People" and not enough like "Where the Wild Things Are." Too many "family moments" and too much hugging. Not enough plot or (from what I can tell) humor from the book. The kid looks all wrong for the character, again based on my familiarity with the book. He's not feisty enough.
Yes, a snap judgment based on the trailer. But movie trailers are released to help us decide if we want to see it. To get us interested. From what I can tell, I'm going to wait and see what the audiences think.
As far as the original Little Shop ending, I was all outraged that they had changed it, too! I liked the final ending in the movie enough, but I was really upset that they didn't keep the original ending from the play ... until I finally saw the deleted footage. It's ponderous, overdone, leaden, and just plain DOESN'T WORK on film. It was a very wise decision not to sink the entire movie due to those final ineffective moments, and recall the actors for a reshoot. I'm glad they did it.

B12B-
Don't forget, one of the girls wasn't available, so only two are present, the other is just legs.
I love that original ending of Little Shop! Except for the girls' vocals during "Dont Feed the Plants" and the footage of the plants taking over is way too long, but love the final shot.
Thanks for posting!
