"A Different World" was from "The Cosby Show" and that ran for a while.
You could argue that "Rhoda" was successful from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show"...not too sure about "Phyllis" though.
"The Simpsons" might be considered a Spinoff too.

king of the hill was a spinoff of bevis and butthead i think. or at least, a hank hill-esque character was on there before king of the hill was a show.
and law and order special victims unit and criminal intent. i liked trial by jury but i was in the minority lol
i had no idea saved by the bell was a spinoff. i'll have to check out the show it was from. i loved saved by the bell. my brother and i used to watch it every morning in the summer before camp.

Posted: 2/20/10 at 4:31pmlol i used to watch mork and mindy when i was little. i was too young to get anything on the show, but at the time we had a dog named mindy, and i think i just liked hearing her name (this was like... age 3-4)

KING OF THE HILL wasn't a spin-off. They just had the same creators. However, DARIA was a spin-off of BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD.
SAVED BY THE BELL wasn't so much a spin-off of GOOD MORNING, MISS BLISS as a retooled version of the show.

Tracey Ullman does claim that since The Simpsons were a short on her show that they are a spin-off.
The Colbert Report is technically a spin-off too.

I don't think that Kenan & Kel was a spinoff. The Amanda Show was a spinoff of All That as was the movie Good Burger.

It was added as Saved By The Bell when it went into reruns. Here's a clip from the show.

probably one of my favorite spin offs ever (from Growing Pains)... stupid ABC... i hate them for cancelling the show even though it was #1 in their time slot all because of stupid politics!

^ I love Growing Pains for it's cheesiness.
Also, I got the idea for this thread while watching "The Brady 500", spun off from Brady Bunch. I think they hold the record for spinoffs that failed, minus the movies.
