On Tuesday, the two Palm Springs post offices alone sold 80,000 2 cent stamps......
just some useless info

More useless info-after standing on the line in my post office for at least 45 minutes (which is actually the norm there), I learned that they had no 39 cent stamps, no 2 cent stamps and no 1 cent stamps. As a matter of fact, they ran out even before the day they went into effect. How's that for planning ahead?

LOL, just standing on that line makes you want to go postal. They only have one or two people working, and the line snakes around almost to the door. Everyone on the line stands there watching the one or two people work as slow as they possibly can, and carry on long personal conversations with the customers. If you dare say anything to complain, you get the look of death and sarcastic remarks. I've even heard workers from my branch say that they hate working there because the CUSTOMERS are rude! Oy, I should have posted (haha) this on the pet peeve thread, sorry.

On Sunday I went and bout 70 1 cent stamps.

The machine was out of 2 cent stamps, so I just kept going 10 at a time for the penny stamps.

At least I have them now.

Thank goodness for the machines, so I can avoid some of the lines.

Am I missing something? Did the postage stamp go up? I haven't used snail mail in ages...
