Apparently THE STAR reported this and it was on Early Today.
They said Star leaving was a pre-condition to Rosie signing on.
I wonder 1.) if it's true and 2.) who will replace?
I think Soledad O'Brien. She'd be the perfect fit. The "racial" token and she'd be able to take over as moderator. She's everything Star Jones couldn't be.
And before someone posts a link to the last thread about Rosie and Star...this is NEW news, not rehashing old news.
This was just on TV and was merely board speculation before.
Edit: This article is saying Sheryl Lee Ralph...wouldn't that be nice?

Kevin Soledad on CNN. and Sheryl would be great
Can she sing "Long as I'm Here With You" and "Only in New York" at the start of every episode?
I would love Kathy Griffin to get Star's spot. However, she got into it with Babs so I doubt that will happen.
I read that Oprah's friend Gayle King is being considered.
Last night, on one of the entertainment shows, Star Jones released a statement saying that she has signed on for next season...
According to the guy from TV Guide that was on Howard Stern's show this morning, Star Jones has NOT signed a new contract and her current contract expires this year.
I highly doubt that Rosie signed on with the condition that Star be let go. Although, I think that Barbara and ABC have had it up to here with Star for awhile now and are probably eager for her to leave. So, signing Rosie, knowing that it would piss off Ms. Jones and more than likely prompt her to take a hike, is the icing on the cake.
I heard that Star was shopping herself around to host her own talk show.
If only it was Felicia P.Fields, she would be hilarious and she wants to have a talk show. And she could sing! Oh Oprah, pull some strings.
Hell, yes!
First of all, I doubt that Rosie said she'd sign on only if Star goes. It makes more sense that once Star heard Rosie was signed, she herself decided to leave. I'm disappointed, because whomever takes Star's place won't be as fun as the deadly combo as Rosie and Star. I see no reason to watch the show now!
And if Star does indeed get her own talk show, how quickly she will find out how unpopular she really is (as in lack of ratings).
So Mis Thang will hafta get a real job again! How the high and might have fallen.
Didn't Star have a talk show years ago? It had a law theme to it, if I remember...
She was a host on Court TV.
So, the karma wheel is always turning. Sometimes more slowly than others!
Good morning, Jane2!
I think the karma wheel will gain momentum once it starts moving. Now if only Ms. Hasselskank can get caught up in it too, I'd be happy.
"cause, I AM a lawya!"
I miss Tracey Morgan.
I personally can't wait to see Rosie O'Donnell eat that blond bimbo live on tv.
Eww!
Hey Dottie! I think I'm the only one, but I can't stand Barbara Walters. Maybe even more than Star!!!!
I watched this show last night when got home. Did anyone notice that every time Star opened her mouth Meredith cringed and nver answered her directly?
Jane2, make that two. When Barbara W. subbed on GMA a couple of weeks ago, I turned the channel immediately.
