re: Richard Kind will be better than Greg Jbara!

I just saw DRS last night for the 5th and final time and although I am sure RK will do a wonderful job, Greg Jbara will always be Andre for me. He is terrific in that role. Everytime I see it I am in awe at the way he can keep a straight face even after saying some of the funniest lines in the show.

I have seen DRS 4 times and with 4 different casts. The only constant was Greg Jbara. I remember when Jonathan Pryce hurt his leg and Greg called him his hero for not letting it stop him from performing.

Also, Hugh Jackman never missed a performance in The Boy From Oz. When he went on a planned vacation the theater was dark.

I can only speak for myself, but I make a point of standing in the back and letting first timers go up close, unless I am there WITH a first timer or have something specific to say to someone.

I used to stagedoor The Boy From Oz whenever I saw the show. I didn;t always get to say hello to Hugh. He eventually learned my name and would actually say "Hi Malki" when he saw me. Will he remember me if I see him again, probablyu not, but who knows.

Greg Jbara remembers names also. In fact, he used to mispronounce my name and I finally corrected him. I went to say hi after seeing another show and he actully rememberd my name and pronounced it correctly.

Obviously, not a

My son and I saw it last week from Row BB Center Orch on the aisle (don't remember the actual seat numbers 113 &114 maybe). They were great seats.

Mamie, I'm with you, Greg is Andre and no one else will be the same. I like Richard Kind but am not sure about the accent. I LOVE Greg's French accent. Then again, I love Greg. I read an interview with Kind where he says that he is not much of a singer or a dancer. I love when Andre and Muriel dance. Greg is so graceful. I am just not sure if Kind has the grace and charm that come so naturally to Greg. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Add me to the Greg Jbara Fan CLub! Not only has he invited me and my kids backstage (more than once), he stayed a little longer one time and let my 4 year old sing a song onstage. He actually created a monster because Yoni (my son) now calls himself a Broadway star but Greg will always have a place in my heart for being the sweetest person I have ever met.
re: Tony's dress rehearsal?
 May 24 2006, 01:16:39 PM
Dress rehearsals are held the morning of the show. Some people get tickets when they buy a Tonys package through Visa (I think) which includes Tonys tickets, rehearsal tickets, gala tickets, 2 nights in a hotel and ticktes to a nominated show. My friend bought the package last year and had an extra rehearsal ticket which she gave me. We sat in the orchestra section. It was amazing.

They also give tickets to people who wait on line that morning. Iam not sure how many are given out or

Mamie, I was wondering the same thing. Can't wait to hear how it goes. Not too worried though, she will be working with the best - Greg - so she will be fine.
re: Is there going to be a Playbill Broadway Yearbook June 1, 2005-May 31, 2006?

I know that DRS took their picture last Wednesday.

Hi guys! Here goes. Greg told me earlier today that we had to finish our tour by 5 because the cast (and crew, I believe) were taking a picture for the Broadway Yearbook. That being the case, I made sure we were there a little early and we waited outside. A guy had come out (not Kevin) and I told him why we were there. He told Greg that we were there and then told us that Greg wanted us to wait on the stage after the show while he changed. Then the guy told us that Greg said we can go up t

Today's the day! Mamie, I said something to Yoni about it being his Broadway debut and he said "what's a day bue?" I hope he actually does it, you never know when he will change his mind. Also, his allergies and asthma are bothering him so who knows what he will be like this afternoon. I just hope Greg still talks to me after his encounter with the little monster.

Kevin is the best and has been since Hugh was at the Imperial. He sometimes comes off as being tough but he is just an old softie at heart. I was there once during TBFO when a woman was literally having a panic attack at the thought of meeting Hugh. Kevin let her inside to sit down and relax and so she could meet Hugh without all the other people watching her. He really was wonderful with her. The stage door at DRS is crazy when Kevin is not there.
re: If You Could Dine With Any Broadway Star, Who Would You Pick?

Two years ago my answer would have been Hugh Jackman. Now, although I would still love to spend time with Hugh, I would have to say Greg Jbara. Talking to him is like talking to an old friend. I think it would be great fun.

I wasn't really worried. Even when he said it, he didn't seem very upset about it being late, but he did look atired. After all, there were 2 shows yesterday. Truth is, my friend basically told him her whole life story (which is pretty interesting as she is connected to CBGBs) but he was a perfect gentleman about it. I asked him about what he had said in the interview about not coming back to NY and then we got into a discussion about school tuition, which led to a discussion about him renov

Well, I made Chocolate Peanut Butter Bonbons! I will give them to Greg tonight, along with a copy of Shani's report and a thank you letter from her.

Dre, I figured out what happened. My son was connecting our Tivo and didn't attach one of those things in the phone jack that stops it from interfering with the phone line, so my internet was down for the past 2 days. My husband fixed it this morning so now I am back online.

Anyone else going to DRS tonight?

It is sad that he is not coming back, but his devotion to his family is one of things I love most about Greg.

Me again. My husband just ordered TiVo so I will be able to see Greg's episode of Conviction after all.
